✨The third week of February 2024 saw buying pressure from Bitcoin spot ETFs continue to bring BTC to a new 2-year peak, leading to the growth of the entire market.
✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased by ~$151B (from ~$1,812B to ~$1,963B) of its total capitalization.
✨BTC Reclaims $52K
✅After closing last week with a 13% gain, BTC started the current one with another surge on Monday, driving it to $50K for the first time in over two years. The US CPI numbers on Tuesday brought some pain for the bulls as BTC dropped to $48,5K, but that was short-lived, and the asset resumed its bullish trajectory almost immediately.
✅This led to breaking above $51K and $52K on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday saw more price gains, and BTC tapped $52,9K to chart a new multi-year peak.
✅This is where the rally was halted, at least for now. Besides a brief price drop yesterday that left $100M in liquidations, BTC calmed in the following days.
✅Currently, BTC trades around $52K, with its market cap above $1T and its Dominance over the altcoins above 52% on CMC.
✨Altcoins Grow Strongly
✅With the total market capitalization increasing by ~$150B in one week, almost all Altcoins grew strongly, leading to the excitement of the entire market
✅Last week, among the top 50 altcoins, GRT was the name with the best growth, with ~62%, currently trading around the $0.27 mark. Following is SEI (40%), STX (39%), RNDR (29%), MATIC (19%), ADA (15%), BNB (10%).
✅ETH is up 4% on the week, aiming to return to the $3K mark
✅BSCS is trading at $0,0114: +5,61% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,0108.
✨Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index is 75 - Greed, higher than at the beginning of the week (71)

▶ Scalping: The process of buying and selling a coin/token multiple times on the same day within short timeframes to profit from small price fluctuations over that period.
These often occur when there is low volume, but many exchanges have daily limits for how much you can trade, so some traders will try to take advantage of these periods by making repeated trades throughout them.
📕 Tips: Always DOYR before investing!
▶ Segregated witness (segwit): A soft fork upgrade to the Bitcoin protocol proposed by the Bitcoin Core development team and activated in 2017
It increases network capacity (transactions per second), fixes transaction malleability, and reduces UTXO bloat.
▶ Sell wall: A large order on an exchange meant to push down the price of a cryptocurrency by discouraging others from buying it and preventing those who want to sell from doing so unless they get a lower price.
▶ Script: An alternative proof-of-work algorithm designed by Colin Percival for Tarsnap online backup service to make it more difficult to perform large-scale custom hardware attacks.
It's been adopted by many altcoins since then due to the increased cost involved when using ASICs rather than GPUs/CPUs, including Litecoin and Dogecoin.
▶ Sharding: A process that involves splitting a blockchain network into smaller groups of nodes called shards, each responsible for processing transactions in parallel.
This is supposed to alleviate the pressure from other components such as CPU or GPU so more computational power can be used on solving cryptographical puzzles and attaining consensus.

✨The market excitement was extended in the last week of February with many major updates from DeFi projects: Uniswap shares fees with UNI stakers, 4th Optimism airdrop worth ~$40M, EigenLayer has successfully raised $100M capital from a16z.
✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased by ~$20B (from ~$1,963B to ~$1,983B) of its total capitalization.
✨BTC to Challenge $52K?
✅After several weeks of steady price increases, BTC experienced a relatively quiet seven-day period. The most significant price surge occurred on Tuesday, propelling the asset to a new multi-year peak of exactly $53K.
✅This surge was met with a sharp rejection, causing the cryptocurrency to plummet by over $2K. Although it attempted to recover most losses, BTC dropped to a multi-day low of $50.6K yesterday.
✅However, the landscape has since shifted. BTC initiated another upward movement, gaining over a thousand dollars in hours and nearly $52K
✨ETH reached $3.1K, UNI Standing Out
✅ETH has risen in the past few weeks and jumped above $3K several times lately but has always been pushed back down. The past 24 hours saw another increase that has driven ETH to reach $3.1K, increasing 7.2% weekly
✅UNI exploded by almost 80% in a day and ~42% in the week, driven by a proposal to change an essential protocol component.
✅Namely, the Uniswap Foundation proposes that UNI holders receive a percentage of the fees generated by the DEX. Should the proposal pass, this turns UNI from a mere governance token into a yield-generating one.
✅SOL has remained above a round-numbered milestone, as it now stands north of $100. BNB, XRP, ADA, AVAX, and LINK are also slightly in the green.
