Telegram blocks 64 channels
Pressure from the German federal government

With the argument of taking action against "hate & incitement", spaces of free expression have long been curtailed even when there is no trace of "hate & incitement" there, but only content that deviates from the government's or "guiding organizations'" phraseology.

From this point of view, we observe the blocking of 64 Telegram channels with concern, without wanting to evaluate the legitimacy of the blocking of the affected channels in any way, as we simply do not know the channels.

We therefore urge everyone who follows us on Telegram to also subscribe to us on censorship-free alternative platforms like Gettr. We are also working on other solutions to stay in touch with the community if our channels should be blocked without justification.

I believe that with telegram's closing down of 64 channels at the behest of the German gummint, telegram as a viable "free speech platform" is toast. They cannot be trusted.

People are being driven from platform to platform; this shit MUST STOP. I believe also that Gab, with all it's warts and severe lack of file transfer capability and voice and video chat and group conferencing, is the most trustworthy of the currently operating platforms.
