self compassion, body, society, chronic illness, invisible problems
"the body positivity movement needs to start moving hard into including disabled bodies and this is what i mean by that
[...]
unhealthy bodies deserve to be appreciated too [...] your body is what allows you to exist, [...] your body is what your loved ones see when they look at you and the love they feel for it as an extension of you makes it a good body"

sex, relationships, trauma, abuse
when teenage girls have crushes on you its your job as an adult male to ignore it
[...]
this is the bare minimum of decent human behavior for ANY gender. if you are an adult and someone who is not an adult wants to have a relationship with you, its your duty to, at bare minimum, turn them away
[...]
having crushes on adults is a normal adolescent thing, but it doesnt mean they're ready for -or for that matter, want- an actual relationship with said adult. its a goddamn developmental phase for kids working out their sexuality, and treating it as a chance to get laid is fucking monstruous
[...]
teenagers often have crushes on older and/or unavailable people like celebrities precisely because psychologically/emotionally they're not ready to have a relationship. on a subconscious level, fantasizing about someone you know you cant be with allows you to experiment with your emotions in a safe way. and obviously an adult taking advantage of that will disrupt the entire thing"

insomnia, rest, anxiety
"thank god for the mythbusters though because it used to be that whenever i knew i had insomnia i'd just kind of accept it and stay up doing whatever until my morning classes and spend the day feeling like shit
but then they did an episode where they established that even just fucking lying there for a half hour, not even sleeping just laying there and not even for an hour, makes a significant difference and you'll feel way better"

neurodivergency, labels, autism
"its not aspergers, its autism"
[reminder that this is to educate people, not to be weaponized against those who dont know. dont vilify everyone you hear saying asperger
edit: interesting and important take on the comments section, thank you to the person who posted it]

self compassion, growth, healing
"sometimes i wake up & have to remind myself: "there is nothing wrong with me. i have patterns to unlearn, new behaviors to embody & wounds to heal. but there is nothing wrong with the core of me & who i am. i am unlearning generations of harm and remembering love. it takes time." "

autism, neurodivergency, labels, society, diagnosis
"i am autistic but not diagnosed. can i ask for really small accomodations at work or school?
[...]
if you dont want to pursue an autism or adhd diagnosis and you have access to a doctor or therapist you can get them to write you a note attesting to a symptom of your neurodivergence (rather than naming the condition itself) and stating the need to be accommmodation"
