In 1991, the Roman club published a book that spoke about the “great transition”, covering the first steps to the “great reset” of the current WEF.

In 1965, Aurelio Peccei, the Italian industrialist, made a speech that inspired Alexander King, the head of the Scottish scientific department of the OECR. These two found that they were separated by deep concern to the long -term future of mankind and planet, what they called the modern "difficult position of mankind."

In 1972, the first major report of the Growth Club was published. It was sold by millions of copies around the world, which caused disputes in the media, and also served as the impetus for the global movement for sustainable development. This call to the objective scientific assessment of the influence of human behavior and the use of resources is still determined by the Roman club.
