Just some ramblings about Jesus

In Babylonian and Sumerian mythology, the connection between Tammuz (Sumerian: Dumuzid) and the timeframe of three days and three nights is most famously linked to the myth of the Descent of Ishtar (Inanna) to the Underworld.
While Tammuz himself is usually said to spend half the year in the underworld, the specific "three days and three nights" duration appears in the following ways:
1. Ishtar’s Time in the Underworld
In the Sumerian version of the story, when the goddess Ishtar (Inanna) descends to the underworld to confront her sister Ereshkigal, she is struck dead and her corpse is hung on a hook.
The Duration: She remains dead in the underworld for exactly three days and three nights.
The Rescue: Before she left, she instructed her servant Ninshubur to seek help if she did not return within that timeframe. On the third day, Ninshubur appealed to the gods, and Ishtar was eventually revived and allowed to ascend.
2. Tammuz as the Substitute
Because the laws of the Underworld require a soul for a soul, Ishtar could only leave if she provided a replacement. She chose her husband, Tammuz, because he failed to mourn her while she was gone.
The Annual Ritual: This myth formed the basis for the Babylonian month of Tammuz (June/July).
The 3-Day Mourning: While the weeping for Tammuz could last for a month, some ancient calendars and ritual texts describe a specific three-day climax to the festival. During the last three days of the month of Tammuz, an image of the god was "buried" or "hidden," representing his final descent into the abyss, followed by a celebration of his eventual return.
3. Astronomical Symbolism
Scholars often note that the "three days and three nights" motif in Babylonian religion is linked to the lunar cycle.
When the moon is "dark" (the New Moon phase), it disappears from the sky for approximately three days before being "reborn" as a crescent.
As a god of fertility and cycles, Tammuz's "death and resurrection" was a mirror of these natural rhythms—the disappearance of life (vegetation or light) for a short, set period before its return

To name a few…

The biggest names in Conservatism are either professing Catholics, planning to convert to Catholicism, or constantly “expressing interest” in the Catholic faith

Do you notice a pattern transpiring in America? I certainly do…

The Jesuit counter-reformation is still very much at work with the same goal of bringing Christians back under the dominion of Papal Rome

Rome’s architectural influence on America’s parliamentary buildings and town halls has always been evident, but now it’s spiritual influence is becoming evident and is being channeled through the rapidly growing “Christian” Nationalist Right

Hold fast to the Word of God and reject the false doctrines of men.
