Margraviate Theatre in Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany.

The theatre building was built between 1744 and 1748 in the Baroque style, designed by the architect Joseph Saint-Pierre. This theatre is rightly considered a jewel of the so-called Bayreuth Rococo.

Its construction was timed to coincide with the marriage of Elisabeth Friederike Sophia of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The interior was created by the decorators Giuseppe Galli-Bibiena and his son Carlo in the late Baroque style.

They used to be able to build masterpieces. Why can't we even repeat them now?

KRONSTADT CULTURAL LAYER

It is clear that blacksmiths in primitive forges, using primitive tools, forged such perfect one-to-one "horseshoes", and I wonder what kind of transportation they were used for?

And there were many, but somewhere they were melted down to metal, and somewhere they were covered with asphalt, as in this case.
I'm curious, when asphalt was covered with asphalt, didn't people have questions? Asphalt is not needed here.

PARPHENON

The Parthenon is a huge structure in scale, but it seems slender, graceful and straight. The secret is that there is not a single straight line. optical illusion of the human eye.

The temple built in the 5th century BC is one continuous optical illusion. The base has a slight rise to the center, so that from afar it does not seem that the floor is sagging. The corner columns are sloping towards the middle and the two middle columns towards the corners. The columns themselves have different thicknesses depending on their place in the temple, taper to the top, and the cannelures (grooves on the columns) are adjusted in thickness so that they appear to be of equal width because of the optics.

Note from the Archaeologist: "I will not ask how the architects and engineers were able to calculate every block and every detail. How did the builders achieve such impeccable proportions and balance?

CELESTIAL DISK FROM NEBRA

This bronze artifact created around the 7th century BC is in the Archaeological Museum of Halle [Germany]. The disk is covered with a green patina on which the Sun, Moon and 32 stars, including the Pleiades cluster, are depicted in gold.

The accuracy of the stars in relation to each other and to the celestial luminaries is astonishing. The disk even depicts constellations taking into account the proportions. This indicates a very high level of development of people of that period.

MAMMOTH DIMA

The mammoth had twenty-seven pounds of undigested food in its stomach: spruce cones, larch and pine branches, sedge, wild thyme, various flowers and two kinds of moss.

There is still no answer as to the cause of its instant death. It froze with the food inside, which had not had time to decompose.

Science says the mammoth fell through a crack in the glacier. But where on the glacier did he find so much green?

CRIPTEX

A cryptex was a cylinder made up of rotating disks of letters. By arranging the letters in a certain order, the cryptex could be opened and a secret message could be retrieved from the center of the cylinder. If an attempt was made to crack the "cipher machine", the flask of vinegar contained inside would break and the acid would destroy the paper. The cryptex was recreated for the movie The Da Vinci Code from Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings.

ANCIENT REFRIGERATORS

Persian engineers by 400 B.C. had developed the technique of storing ice in the summer in the desert. In winter, the Persian people would bring ice from the nearby mountains and store it in vaults created in the middle of the desert.

These storages, called yakhchal, were some of the oldest refrigerators. They were also used to keep food cool and fresh during the hot summers.

At a glance, the structures look like large dome-shaped structures made of raw brick. Some of them were up to 18 meters high. Underneath the dome was a large underground space with warehouses. This space was connected to a wind trap, which helped to reduce the temperature to low levels during the summer
