They are so miniaturized that a microscope and X-rays had to be used to study them. These wooden figurines were created within a short period of time from 1500 to 1530 in Flanders or the Netherlands. The demand for pocket-sized, high-quality figurines of a religious nature arose with the emergence of merchants as a class.
However, the Reformation soon began and many church accessories fell out of fashion, including adobe miniatures.
Using microcomputer tomography and 3D scanning, researchers have discovered how complex these miniature altars are actually arranged.
The inner layers are joined together by completely hidden seams that can only be detected with a microscope or X-ray. The individual fragments are attached to each other with tiny connecting pieces.
But much of the production process remains unsolved.

When they opened the café, they decided to get a fire exit. They removed the asphalt, and underneath it was a brick vault. They broke through it and saw the long tunnels!
