Killing giants in a painting📜

If you look closely, you can see that on the bottom right is a normal person. It is not a child. Children were depicted with different proportions. The head is 1/5 of the body in children and 1/6 of the body in adults

Sometimes all that reaches us is ruins

It is understandable when roads are dug up, lying columns are lifted, and statues are put in their place. But sometimes, after the reconstruction of the original structure is left with only a skeleton, or the future landmark is assembled from scratch at its own discretion. For example, as in Ephesus in Greece📜

By discovering wireless electricity, any scientist would rob the world oligarchy of money. No need for oil, wood, coal, gas, expensive hydro and power plants - a single receiver can infinitely create energy virtually out of thin air.

Financial magnate Morgan instantly stopped funding Nikola Tesla's experiments when he came up with wireless power transmission and the extraction of energy "out of nowhere" - from the world's ether. After that, no one helped Tesla financially - the solidarity of the financial tycoons turned out to be like that of the thieves in the law.

They used to be able to make stone transparent

On the subject of progress. And this is an age that in theory could not have created such a thing, but did, and compare it with ours, in which our contemporaries shout, "We can do it too!" But they can't...
Do you see the transparent fabric, too?🤔

There used to be bigger lizards, taller trees, and cleaner air. Literally. But, if there were giant trees and fossilized leaves the size of a good paraglider are preserved from them, then where are the stumps?

Much suspicion is aroused by such pole-mountains. For example, entire petrified forests are found in China and the United States, which is not surprising, given the ability of trees to accumulate metals or grow minerals within themselves📜

Looking at maps of South America you can find a long rounded trail at the Drake Passage. Moreover, on maps of 1570 this strait is not yet present and America is connected to Antarctica.

It turns out that the catastrophe occurred after the 16th century, but there is no record of it

By the mid-1960s, a Guojian sword was found in China from the 5th century BC.

The sword is like a sword, were it not for two buts - the sword has a unique alloy, and the scabbard in which it was stored was fitted so tightly that it literally created an airtight environment.

An alloy of bronze, copper, tin, lead and iron added sulfur. Closer to the center, the blade contains more copper, which increases its flexibility and strength, while the edges have increased tin, making them tougher. A unique creation! A masterpiece! Which, according to historians, was only made with a hammer, anvil and horn 2,500 years ago.

Cave temples that were created by a civilization unknown to science🤔

One of the unidentified caves are the Kondana Caves, located about 30 km from the city of Lonavala. The group of 16 caves is believed to have been created by hand using a primitive tool, and from scratch. However, it is very difficult and even impossible to create such masterpieces by hand and with a primitive tool, so it is hard to believe.

Hence there is a quite logical question who created these caves. Most likely it was a civilization unknown to science, which had high knowledge and technology.

Be that as it may, but scientists still do not agree on who made these caves and for what purpose📜

The Vatican Library is one of the most protected sites in the world: its protection is more serious than that of any existing nuclear power plant📜

In addition to numerous Swiss guards, the library is guarded by state-of-the-art automatic systems that form several layers of security.

The secret archives of the Vatican became known in 1611 under Pope Paul V. Only a limited number of people could get in. Some scientists with a letter of recommendation can get into the holy of holies, but the entrance is regulated and allows two people per year. At the same time, the entrance to the archive does not imply free movement and access to any documents. The visitor indicates the topic of interest, and the appropriate literature is selected.
This insularity raises questions and leads to theories about what the Vatican archives are really storing.
Probably the library of Ivan the Terrible and the Library of Alexandria are kept there🤔

The Chinese Longyu Grottoes, discovered in 1992, quickly gained popularity because of the traces of processing, similar to the traces of modern mining equipment.

A similar grotto system was discovered 100 km from Longyu. One of the mountains turned out to be hollow inside, because some unknown civilization (the scientists called it a civilization) had cut down and removed almost all the rock in the area of 7 square kilometers. Official historians have noted, explaining that the ancient Chinese mined stones here to build their houses. Only the stone houses were not found. After all, the rock can be traced, as it was done in the Egyptian quarries. Then historians had the assumption that the rock was taken out along the Xin'an River. What happened to 200,000 cubic meters of stone, or about 5,500 freight cars? Here the officials were silent.

Modern big cats evolved about 11 million years ago and that is all paleontology knows about them. The entire Panthera genus - lions, leopards, jaguars, snow leopards and tigers - have a common ancestor, but there is no fossil evidence of what it might have been🤔

Yes, saber-toothed cats appeared 42 million years ago, there is a giant 30 million year gap between them and panthers. In addition, saber-toothed cats are so distant from panthers that although they are part of the same family, they have very little in common

India, an entire temple was dug up🤔

The nature of the origin of the soil varied at different times. In some places it looks more like debris-flow deposits, while in others it looks more like the soil was deposited or flowed from above rather than being brought down by a water current.

The mystery of the disappearance of the largest metropolis of antiquity🤔

For about a century leading minds have not been able to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the city of Mohenjo-daro with a population of fifty thousand people. 5,000 years ago it was one of the largest cities in the world.

Researchers stumbled upon the remains of this city in Pakistan in 1923. Traces of great fire and destruction were visible throughout the city. But what interested archaeologists most of all was the fact that, the city had no burial grounds or graves.

According to experts Mohejo-daro existed for about 1.5 thousand years. Why haven't the researchers found any burials around the city? The only thing that archaeologists found were the remains of people without any signs of physical impact. Apparently, people died instantly, unaware of their impending death.

Unusual 12,000-year-old mask found in Florida

It was revealed that it depicts an Incan deity. And that the mask contains the chemical element iridium.

Iridium is scarce in the bowels of the earth, found mainly in fallen meteorites. And this metal was discovered in 1803.

As in any craft, cartographers can be untalented or overly talented. Piranesi's maps of cities are excessively accurate, like modern satellite maps.

Whereas flat areas and roads can be measured from the ground and transferred to paper, transferring ravines, winding mountains, and rivers with photographic precision requires at least a balloon with a camera. Only Piranesi did not live long enough to create the balloon and photography, destroying such a good theory.

A map carved on an ostrich egg

The thing about the egg is its age. Historians have dated it to the pre-dynastic period. That's 6,000 years ago. The map is in the Nubian Museum of Aswan.
It is clear: the three pyramids are located on the west bank of the upper Nile.

The three most famous pyramids of Giza were already standing in their places 6,000 years ago. Although the pharaohs of the 4th dynasty, who by history were active in building them, were still about 1,500 years away.

The mysterious island of Thule

The ancient Greek traveler Pytheas went on a journey to Northern Europe in the 4th century BC and, upon his return, first told his fellow citizens about the island of Thule.

His tales of
of the northern lights, the sea with blocks of ice, and the polar night seemed to the population to be fabrications. So Thule Island and other "tall tales" of Pythian were forgotten for centuries.

When the Vikings in the ninth century discovered Iceland and compared the natural and geographical characteristics of the landscape with the denoscription of Thule Island, it became clear that Iceland was the same mythical island that Pytheas had once visited🤔

A scientist found a shoe print in Nevada that is more than 200 million years old!

In 1922, mining engineer John Reid was searching for fossils in Nevada. He found an imprint of the back half of the sole of a human shoe.

The sole was clearly outlined in the rock. The proof was visible stitch marks: along the edge of the sole "ran a well imprinted stitching thread that fastened the welt to the sole." Another stitching pattern was visible on the sole itself, and there was an indentation in the center of the heel, just as a shoe would have been worn.

The fossil was taken to New York and shown to a geologist from Columbia University and three professors from the American Museum of Natural History. They all agreed that the print (the rock itself) was from the Triassic period. That's 213-248 million years ago. But a little later, they unanimously declared that it "was an absolutely amazing imitation" of a shoe.
