The True Callers To Allaah

Allaah, the Most High, mentions: "Say (O Muhammad [ﷺ]): "This is my way; I invite to Allaah with sure knowledge." [Surah Yusuf: 108].

Shaykh Ibn al-'Uthaymeen rahimahullaah mentions in explanation of the above Aayah:

And Allaah says: "I invite to Allaah"; that is because the callers to Allaah are categorised into two categories:

1- The caller to Allaah.
2- The caller to others besides Allaah.

So the true caller to Allaah, the Most High, is the Mukhlis (sincere one) who wants to connect the people to Allaah, the Most High.

And the caller to other than Allaah; at times he is one who calls to his own self - He (only) calls to the truth in order to be revered and held in high esteem among the people and to be well respected (among them). And for this reason you find him becoming angry when the people do not conform and comply with what he orders with; whilst he does not become angry when they commit violations and prohibitions much greater than that. Nonetheless, he never calls to their  abandonment (i.e the prohibitions).

Moreover, (the caller to other than Allaah); at times he is a caller to his Ra'ees (chief and leader) as is found in many countries where there are many scholars of misguidance from among the scholars of the states - not scholars of religion - calling to their leaders. Hence, when socialism appeared in the Arab lands, some of the scholars of misguidance sought to provide proofs for it from Aayaat and Ahaadeeth which are far from being (plausible) evidences, rather there are no proofs in them whatsoever. So they are the callers to other than Allaah.

Whoever truly calls/invites to Allaah and observes that the people flee and run away from him; then he must not despair and abandon ad-Da'wah (calling to Allaah). For indeed the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) told 'Alee (radiallaahu 'anhu): "Go to them slowly and calmly... For by Allaah! That Allaah guides through you even one man is better for you than (possessing) red camels." Meaning - that guiding one man from the Jewish tribes is better for you than (possessing) red camels.

So if a person calls to Allaah and nobody responds; then his anger should be because of the truth not being followed, not that he was not answered. So if he is angry for this reason (i.e. the truth not being followed and obeyed), then it means that he is truly calling to Allaah. And even if one single person was to respond and accept then that is sufficient. And if nobody was to respond then he has freed and absolved himself of his responsibility. And (this is the case) in the Hadeeth: "And a Prophet who had nobody with him." [Bukharee (no.5705) & Muslim (no.220)].

Then indeed it is sufficient, that from calling to the truth and warning against the Baatil (falsehood), it is made distinctly clear for people that this is the truth and this is falsehood. That is because if people (possessing knowledge) remained silent and stopped clarifying the truth, and falsehood was deemed correct and left to become established for a prolonged time; then this falsehood turns into truth and the truth into falsehood.

A Warning From Two Despicable Doubts
(Concerning The Books of Refutations & Sitting With The People Of Innovations & Reading Their Books)

The Flag-bearer of al-Jarh Wat-Ta’deel in our times, al-‘Allaamah ash-Shaykh Rabee’ b. Haadee ‘Umayr al-Madkhalee (Hafidhahullaah) said:
“I advise the youth to refrain from listening to two despicable doubts:

The First Doubt:
We read the books of the people of innovations, sit with them and we take the truth and leave off the falsehood!!

This (false principle) has played - as they say - a major role in driving many of the youth into departing from the Salafee Methodology and plunging them into the arms of the people of falsehood and innovations.  So this Miskeen (poor person, pauper) reads in the books of the people of innovations and is not able to distinguish between the truth and the falsehood. So he deems the truth to be falsehood and falsehood to be the truth and thus becomes misguided.

The Second Doubt:
Do not read the books of Rudood (refutations)!! The books of refutations, the books of refutations, the books of refutations.

What is meant by this is that we should read the books of innovations, and the books of attacking and maligning the Salafee Methodology and its people! And we should listen to (their) tapes, radio programmes, (other types of) media and (all of their) rumours. And we should let ourselves become instruments that are ready to accept and receive all of these things, but our eyes should not extend towards the books of refutations. Why? That is because it will expose them and reveal their faults and it will make the youth clearly see the truth.

So they say: “The books of refutations, the books of refutations, the books of refutations!” They are calling and inviting you to read the books of innovations through the doubt: “that you read (the books of innovation) and take the truth and leave off the falsehood.” So you - the poor one (al-Miskeen) - will fall victim to falsehood; that is because you are not able to distinguish between the truth and the falsehood. And you deem the truth to be falsehood and the falsehood to be the truth. And through this affair they have destroyed what cannot be enumerated except by Allaah of those who used to ascribe themselves to the Salafee Manhaj.

So these are from their plots and machinations by way of which they turn you away from being firm and steadfast upon the truth, and from calling to the truth and opposing the falsehood. So the books of refutations are filled with knowledge, and you will not find a living and dynamic knowledge that distinguishes between the truth and falsehood except in the books of refutations.

The Qur’an - by Allaah - refutes the people of unbelief, the people of misguidance, the hypocrites, the Jews and the Christians. And the Qur’an does not leave any misguidance except that it criticized it, refuted it and explained its misguidance.  And this is the same with the Sunnah, and the Methodology of the Salaf is full (of the same); the books of creed, the books of al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel (The Disparagement and Commendation of narrators) are all full of criticism and refutation of the people of innovations. That is because it is not possible to make a distinction between the truth and falsehood except by way of this criticism and these refutations.

So read the books of Ibn Taymiyyah, the books of Ibn al-Qayyim and the books of the Salafi (scholars) in our contemporary times who fight - if Allaah Wills - in the path of Allaah, they battle in defence of the call to Allaah, they protect the Muslim youth from the Fitan (trials and tribulations), they clarify for them the correct Islamic path from the misguided paths, and they unveil and expose the faults of the leaders of innovations and misguidance.

So know what they intend by waging war against the books of refutations. Seek knowledge, expend efforts in seeking knowledge, and strive hard and exert yourself in seeking it. And from that which will help you in understanding the correct knowledge are the books of refutations. For indeed they are an important part of seeking knowledge. And the one who does not know the books of refutations, even if he has memorised what he has memorised from knowledge then he - may Allaah Bless you - is upon a quaky and unsteady stance.

We have seen many from those who had knowledge then they fell into misguidance. Do not forget the story of ‘Abdur-Razzaaq (as-San’aanee d. 211H), al-Bayhaqee (d. 458H) and Aboo Dharr al-Harawee (d. 434H) - and they were from among the Kibar (major) scholars. So one doubt can lead a person into the arms of the people of innovations – and we seek refuge with Allaah. ‘Abdur-Razzaaq (was led astray) by one who was lesser than him in knowledge, he did not cease to tempt and put him to trial until he made him fall into something from at-Tashayyu’ (Shia’ism). Aboo Dharr was led astray by a statement that he had heard - the praise of ad-Daaraqutnee for one of the Imaams of the al-Ash’arees and so he fell into misguidance. Al-Bayhaqee was deceived by some of the Imaams of misguidance and he fell into al-‘Ash’ariyyah and many others besides them.

And as for our times, then it is not possible to count and enumerate those who were upon the Sunnah - whether he was a scholar or a student of knowledge - then he deviated due to a single doubt, or many doubts, or due to methods and machinations that the enemies employ in order to take them away from the true Manhaj (way) of Allaah, rather, they turn them into soldiers fighting the Salafee Manhaj and its people.

An Advice For The People Of Palestine

By The Muhaddith, al-‘Allaamah, ash-Shaykh Rabee’ b. Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah)

And to the Palestinian people in specific;
it is obligatory upon this people to know that Palestine was not conquered except through Islaam at the hands of the Farooq (the distinguisher) of Islaam[1] and his Islamic armies that distinguished the truth from the falsehood (al-Farooqiyyah). Palestine will never be liberated from the defilement of the Jews except with the true Islaam that conquered it at the hands of al-Farooq.

You have indeed fought many times and struggled much; and I do not know of a people that have been patient as you have been, however, many from among you are not upon the same ‘Aqeedah (Belief, Creed) of al-Farooq and his Manhaj (methodology). If your Jihaad is established upon this (i.e. true ‘Aqeedah and Manhaj) then your problem would be solved and you would attain triumph and victory (over your enemies). Therefore, it is incumbent upon you to correct and establish your ‘Aqeedah, your Manhaj and your Jihaad in accordance to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (ﷺ), and that you should hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and not be divided among yourselves. You must do all of this with earnestness and Ikhlaas (sincerity) in all your Masjids, schools and universities. And you must believe Allaah in all of that (i.e. that which He has promised), In-sha-Allaah, in actualising and achieving a strong and powerful victory over the brothers of apes and swine.

Indeed there is for the people of Shaam (Levant) a truthful and sincere promise upon the tongue of the truthful and the believed one (ﷺ) with victory over the Jews and the Christians. So get to working hard and striving (upon the true Islaam) so that He fulfils His promise to you, and without that, you will not attain except disappointment and utter loss.

So, by Allaah! The mediations and intervention by America and the United Nations will not be of any benefit to you nor will the repugnant nationalism and patriotism (benefit you). Therefore, make haste! Make haste in taking the means to this true and powerful victory. For indeed you have been sufficed by many experiences that have not availed you (in the past) and it will never avail you in anything whatsoever (in the future).  And do not be likened to (the one about whom) it is said:

“Akin to yellowish white camels in the desert killed by severe thirst… whilst carrying water laden on their backs.

O Allaah grant this Ummah the affair of being rightly guided by which your Awliyaa (allies) are given honour and your enemies are debased and humiliated.

O Allaah, raise high Your Word, grant honour to your religion and grant honour to the Muslims with it (i.e. the religion).

O Allaah, seize them by their forelocks to Yourself and to it (i.e. humiliation and punishment in the Hellfire). Indeed You are the All-Hearer of supplication.

And al-Farooq is ‘Umar b. al-Khattaab (radiallaahu ‘anhu)…due to his distinguishing between the truth and falsehood.

So they say: “We are students of Ibn Baaz, we are upon the Manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors). And we are from the students of al-Albaanee, we are students of al-'Uthaymeen.” And they deceive the people into thinking that those (aforementioned) Imaams are with them, and thus they dupe and fool many from the youth with their ploys and deceptions. Those youth who love knowledge, they love the scholars, they love Islaam and they love the truth but the ploys and deceptions of those people have fooled many people and so they fall into their snares.

I asked: “What should I do, O Messenger of Allaah, if I were to reach that?”
