Coursera And Udemy Merge To Form a $2.5B Online Learning Platform

Coursera has agreed to acquire Udemy in an all-stock deal valuing the combined company at approximately $2.5 billion.

This merger unites Coursera's university partnerships and professional certificates with Udemy's vast marketplace of practical, instructor-led courses creating a powerhouse for AI-powered skills training and workforce development worldwide.

Udemy shareholders will receive 0.8 shares of Coursera stock for each Udemy share, representing a premium, and post-merger, Coursera shareholders will own about 59% while Udemy's will own 41%.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to approvals, with projected annual revenue over $1.5 billion and $115 million in cost synergies.
