"It was very helpful that HBO was so flexible with run time and span. When they first asked me if I wanted to do the show, I assumed they meant 10 episodes, hour-long each, like every other Game of Thrones season has ever been. But the fact that we can do six episodes for 30 minutes a pop allows us to be more compact and deliver something which is just a treat. Hopefully, it doesn't overstay its welcome and makes it all the more enjoyable."
