Hivemind Capital launches drone racing P2E project on Algorand

As Forbes reported on January 5, the core of the project will be formed by Drone Racing League. Algorand and The Drone Racing League are working on a "Killer app", which will bring drone racing mainstream by onboarding millions of users.

In the case of DRL's drone racing game on the Algorand blockchain, the crypto-based, play-to-earn assets could, theoretically at least, be transported out-game through the metaverse, or traded for cryptocurrencies, including Algorand's own ALGO token.

Vitalik Buterin Suggests New Fee Structure for Ethereum

Vitalik Butering has released an official suggestion of a new fee structure for the Ethereum network, called "multidimensional EIP-1559," referring to the previously implemented EIP-1559 upgrade.

Behind the technical lingo, the calculations and formulas are simple suggestions that might, in fact, change the way fees work on Ethereum: the different amounts of gas will be used for different operations on the network.

France is Bankrupt! France Energy Costs May Shoot Up 40% by February, Warns Minister

Unless an urgent solution is found within days, the French govt may be forced to break a promise to cap energy tariff rises at 4% and risk a repeat of 2018 violent energy tax rise riots, says Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.

"Look what’s going on in Kazakhstan, it’s quite indicative of what can happen when energy prices explode, it’s politically dangerous,” Bruno Le Maire said on Friday.

Le Maire has also spoken to state-controlled energy firm EDF boss Jean-Bernard Levy about forcing the company to sell some nuclear production to competitors at favourable prices to ensure operators aren't forced into high wholesale prices.

China‘s Economy in front of a Real Estate Economy Catastrophe!

Beijing Begs Banks to Lend MORE to Property Developers

In a major sign of China's concern over the fragile property industry, banks have been urged to lend more to developers after dropping loans over the last two quarters.

Loans towards mergers and acquisitions will also no longer count towards the "three red lines" debt restrictions as regulators scale back intense decades-long crackdown on the real estate sector's largesse.

It is seen as a risky play, given that the industry will need to find at least $197 billion to cover maturing bonds, coupons, trust products and deferred wages to millions of migrant workers for January alone.

700 Mayo Clinic employees FIRED for not getting vaccinated

About 1% of Mayo Clinic workers failed to meet Monday’s deadline to either get vaccinated or prove exemption, despite most exemption requests being granted, and will now be fired for not complying.

The 73k workforce were told back in July about the requirements, and will return to the full quota if workers adhere to the group’s vaccine requirements.

A group of 38 Minnesota lawmakers sent the center a letter in December urging them to compromise on their mandate, saying: “People deserve to make this decision based on the benefits and risks for themselves and not coerced or forced into doing so by threat of losing one’s job.”
