"Members of the Ukrainian battalion, which as part of the United Nations (UN) was tasked with protecting the so-called “Safe Area” of Žepa, are seen relaxing and posing in the center of Žepa after the occupation of Žepa in July 1995. In the background of the photograph, the 16th-century Redžep-pasha’s Tower is burning.
The Ukrainian battalion handed over the Žepa Negotiating Team to the Chetniks, consisting of: Avdo Palić, commander of the Žepa Brigade; Mehmed ef. Hajrić, president of the Žepa War Presidency and also the imam of Žepa; and Amir Imamović, commander of the Žepa Civil Defense. By doing so, it is co-responsible for their subsequent murder at Chetnik hands."
