The Daily Mail tabloid reacted to the Taliban's statement with a screaming headline on the front page: "What did they all die for?"
The authors believe that the families of 457 British soldiers who died in Afghanistan should have a natural question, for which the servicemen gave their lives, if the regime established and supported by the West did not last even several months.
Simultaneously with the loss of life, the British decided to calculate the investment in the Afghan operation (£ 22 billion)
Some commentators on social media are convinced that the United States and its allies have never sought to achieve sustainable democratization and prosperity in Afghanistan. All they were interested in was politics, disbursement and control of opium supplies.
