My girlfriend was on antidepressants (SNRIs) and antianxiety meds for 8 years before she called it quits and weened off them. Took over a year to get off them. Her depressive episodes became worse after the higher dose would "stop working" and she was in and out of hospital from self-induced events or side-effects. Exercise, clean eating and deleting social media played a pivotal role in her recovery - which was by no means a linear process. Society has conditioned us to immediately accept pharmaceutical intervention after a 10 minute consultation with the doctor. It's okay to not feel happy ALL the time because there are ways to go about dealing with it without immediately jumping on the prenoscription band wagon.

I took antidepressants for panic attacks back in the 90s. The medication destroyed my health. I didn't know that the drugs, along with antibiotics, caused depression and a host of other cognitive and physical problems at the time. I did stop taking them because I was able to connect my worsening health with allopathic medication. I quit all allopathic treatments and used whole organic foods, exercise, and a spiritual path, and my mental and physical health improved by 120% 💪😁

In some studies, it's a lack of gut flora and fauna that causes depression, and depression medication contains fluoride, which kills bacteria

This is so true. Its actually of neccessity to feel down or depressed as an ackowledgement that their is imbalance in your life. Not chemically! All comes down to what is working and what isnt. Every depressive thought is an opportunity to reflect, adapt and grow. 100%.

New Study Finds Depression is ‘Not Caused by Chemical Imbalance’, While Pharma Companies Made Over $15 Billion on Antidepressants in 2020
“Many people take antidepressants because they have been led to believe their depression has a biochemical cause, but this research suggests this belief is not grounded in evidence.”

Yes, this is my life. Not only did doctor’s preach this to me. My entire family preached this too me. I was on them for 13 years, and doctors experimented with seroquel, some bipolar med, lithium etc. Just eating fatty meat from ruminant animals made the biggest difference to my mental health.
