Known as Hsiung Feng 3, these missiles are a major element in Taiwan’s arsenal to deter naval landings by the PLA but use Swiss gyroscopes from Leica Geosystems. The oversight occurred as a result of Leica sending them for repair in China instead of Switzerland itself as planned.
