BREAKING: Supreme Court Blocks Biden’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for Private Businesses, but Lets Healthcare Worker Rule Take Effect

🇺🇸💉@COVID19Up: The U.S. Supreme Court has just delivered a mixed ruling on the Biden administration’s workplace COVID-19 vaccination mandates on Thursday (Jan. 13), reinstating a vaccine mandate for healthcare workers but temporarily blocking the vaccine-or-test rule for large private employers as litigation against both moves forward.

The court voted 6-3 to block the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for businesses, ruling it believes the Secretary of Labor “lacked authority to impose the mandate” and should be left up to Congress to decide.

The controversial mandate faced a raft of lawsuits from 27 states with Republican attorneys general or governors, private businesses, religious groups and national industry groups such as the National Retail Federation, the American Trucking Associations and the National Federation of Independent Business.
