Having to decide where to go for a weekend away, Winchester was my top choice. Winchester was the first capital city of England, a period which lasted hundreds of years until the Norman conquest. Winchester was the seat of power of Alfred the Great, whose statue I paid homage to, above.

I had an amazing weekend in Winchester, walking the same streets as Alfred the Great did, we were lucky enough to find a hotel in Old Minster that was the grounds of the old Winchester.
