#OnThisDay in 1976 the IRA murdered Soldier William Miller, 19 At a pedestrian checkpoint at Butcher’s Gate, Londonderry, as the Army were preparing to open the checkpoint at 8am. On This Day in 1974 the IRA murdered David Arthur Smith a 26year old married soldier, smith was shot outside Kelly’s Bar, West Belfast. He had been shot on the 29th June & died on this day with his wife at his bedside. The soldier’s weapon, still strapped to his wrist had accidentally fired inside the hospital hitting a civilian’s foot.

Exclusively for Komsomolskaya Pravda, the Russian MFA has commented the Tommy Robinson trial (my translation for my English colleagues):

In any democratic state — yet the UK authorities constantly consider their country amid the ones — only the Court has a right to define a citizens’ measure of responsibility for the violations they are accused of.

According to the principle of the court procedures non-interference, it would be just incorrect for us to comment the trial before its end, though certainly we will continue to observe the situation thoroughly.

What concerns Mr Robinson’s political views, we initially regard that one of the contemporary society clues is the political pluralism. The oppression of citizens due to their convictions is inappropriate. And it equally considers all the states, including the UK.
