On This Day in 1972 the IRA murdered Kathryn Eakin, 8 in the Claudy bombings. One of nine murdered using 3 bombs in Claudy. Kathryns mother was interviewed 20 yrs later and said “She would have been 28 this year. Every time I go to a wedding I think it could have been hers.“ She was cleaning windows outside her parent’s shop when she was killed.
