FORMER BELFAST COUNCILLOR JOLENE BUNTING ACCUSED OF DEFRAUDING BRITAIN FIRST AT NIPSO HEARING STARTING TODAY

Five years ago, in the summer of 2018, Britain First leader Paul Golding lodged an official complaint with the ‘Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman’ (NIPSO) regarding the alleged attempts by former Belfast city councillor Jolene Bunting to defraud Britain First.

After a five year wait for a hearing, NIPSO finally starts their proceedings today at Progressive House in Belfast at 12 midday.

Former councillor Jolene Bunting is accused of doctoring a Belfast City Council wage slip to try and defraud funds from Britain First.

Ms Bunting, a close friend and associate of ‘Hope Not Hate’ asset Jayda Fransen, allegedly demanded payments from Britain First leader Paul Golding via email and text message, on a fraudulent basis.

Mr Golding has provided emails, text messages and bank statements to NIPSO as evidence against Ms Bunting.

As part of their investigation, Mr Golding was sworn to secrecy for the last five years and has been unable to speak publicly about the accusations against Ms Bunting.

Ms Bunting has previously taken part in BBC Panorama hit-pieces aimed at attracting other patriots.

The hearing against Ms Bunting is due to last three days, Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th.

Both Mr Golding and Ms Bunting are due to give oral evidence at the hearing.

Mr Golding has confirmed that, after NIPSO render their judgement, the bundle of evidence will be handed over to the PSNI for possible criminal charges.
