46 years ago today twelve innocent people lost their lives in the M62 coach bombing.
On February 4th 1974, a coach carrying off-duty British army personnel and their families exploded. Unbeknown to them, the Provisional IRA had hidden an explosive device in the luggage department of the coach. Two young boys were among the dead, a further 38 were injured in what could only be described as something out of a horror film. Yesterday we had the pleasure of speaking with a survivor of the coach bombing. To hear him talk of this atrocity really brings home the reality of the horrors that the IRA inflicted upon the British. We thank you Sir for speaking to us about this horrifying attack and we thank you for serving our country.
