On this day in 2002 19yr old Gavin Hopley went on a night out in Oldham.
Gavin got lost & ended up in the no-go zone of Glodwick. He was chased, beaten & robbed by a gang of Pakistani men.
Gavin died a week later from his injuries.
The police & CPS failed Gavin. No one was ever charged with murder for this brutal violent racist attack.
5 men were charged with violent disorder & received sentences ranging from 9-15 months and another man was charged at a later date
