That's what this one looks like in real life, I really love it.

I see 3 million new users signed up for Telegram within the last 24 hours.
Good. We have true privacy and unlimited space for everyone.

So, I've been on Telegram for around 4 years now, but I really don't understand the new feature.
You can delete messages someone else sent you, without concerting the other person, from THEIR device...
I'm fine with being able to delete MY messages from both sides, this kind of make sense to me, but I can delete the messages YOU sent ME from YOUR phone.
I'm sorry, what ?
In his latest post, Pavel Durov this is about taking control, and that now he feels in control. However, I don't feel in control of my own history anymore.
I'm at the mercy of any one of you suddently deciding to be a prick, or having a moment of distress or depression to decide to delete all of our history together.
There's was a feature for that, called secret chat. I should be in control of the my side of the history in the chat, at the very least of the messages I send.

I sent a message to Telegram Support. I urge you to do the same thing.
"Hello, this isn't really a question per say, but I'd like to point out my disagreement with the new Telegram feature.
On his Channel, Durov said : "we think having control over your own digital footprint should be paramount. [...] I feel truly free and in control."
When I can delete MY messages, undo what I have done, then I feel in control.
When I can remove other people's messages from MY view, then I feel free.
When what I say is at the irrevocable mercy of the impulsivity of my correspondant, I feel scared, like all I do could be gone in an instant, at the whim of other people.
I completly support being able to delete messages from both sides when I send them, but really not when I can delete YOUR messages from your inbox.
If I want security, I use Secret Chats.
Imagine if someone could delete the emails you sent them from your own inbox. Or had the power to do so. My guess is that you would change email provider immidately.
It has been a slow and painful work, getting my friends to join Telegram, slowly. Every now and then, one of them would drop messenger or whatsap, and join Telegram, as the best alternative to facebook's dominion and disregard for privacy and user security, but over my years of use, I have helped grow the community, bit by bit.
Today, telegram is pushing me to make a choice, between returning to facebook's dominion, where my data is unsafe, but my messages are safe, or staying with Telegram, where my data is safe, but my messages aren't.
I implore you to please remove this functionality, or at least ammend it. Confine it to secret messages, or make sure it doesn't get deleted from both parties. Something. Please. I beg you.
Not only are my future communications not safe, but now my history is at risk of being wiped off of the face of the earth forever, out of my control.
Please go back to the light."
