Bitcoin SV Network was going through a massive 51% attack
There was successful 51% attack on the Bitcoin SV network. The attackers tried to attack the network the day before, and on August 3 at 18:46 (Moscow time) they used "serious hash power" and achieved success.
CoinMetrics confirmed that their blockchain integrity risk management tool FARUM recorded the incident, the depth of the reorganization was 14 blocks. After that, the attack stopped, but there were synchronization conflicts between the main mining pools.

Is it all based on Proof-of-work. PoW is used in coins such as Bitcoin & Litecoin. In such a system, all transactions go through miners, through the calculation of mathematical problems.
The attackers would be able to prevent new transactions from gaining confirmations, allowing them to halt payments between some or all users.

Ethereum just activated its 'London' hard fork, and it's a really big deal
Ethereum's "London" hard fork has just activated, and it's a major change.
One of the changes alters the way transaction fees are calculated, ideally smoothing them out and making them less volatile.
Another change essentially sets the stage for a major transformation of ethereum that will make it harder for miners to earn money and could eventually make mining irrelevant.

- you specify a gas price of 100 gwei, you pay 100 gwei
- you specify a max fee of 100 gwei and a max priority fee of 2 gwei. base fee is 50 gwei, you pay 52 gwei and get refunded the rest.
- so specifying gas price is the same as specifying 100 max fee and 100 max priority fee under new model. this way you pay the base fee, which is burned, and the rest goes to miners.
