Top 8  lessons  learned from the book
-"Built To Last"

1. You don’t need a great idea to start a great company.

🔸Few of the visionary companies in the book begin with any specific idea.

🔸The success of visionary companies comes primarily from successful underlying processes and core values.

2. Don’t make “maximizing profit” your primary goal.

🔸Paradoxically, visionary companies make more money than the more purely profit-driven comparison companies.

3. Charismatic, visionary leaders are not required.

🔸Visionary companies benefit from strong leadership, but the book found the best leaders were more akin to architects building a company based on human ideals and values.

4. There is no “correct” set of core values for a visionary company.

🔸Similarly, two companies with opposite values can both be visionary and highly successful.

5. Visionary companies set Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals (BHAGs)

A good way to develop your BHAG is to look for the alignment in three areas:

1) What are you deeply passionate about?

2) Currently, what drives your actions and income?

3) What can you be the best in the world at?

6. Visionary companies almost religiously preserve their core ideology.

🔸It is the translation of intentions into concrete action and results that make the difference.

7. Visionary companies succeed mainly through experimentation.

🔸First, determine your core values and why you exist. Next, try a lot of stuff and see what works.

8. Visionary companies focus on beating themselves, not the competition.

🔸Any Lean practitioner knows that the goal of continuous improvement is perfection and never ends.

10 LESSONS FROM MASTER YOUR SUCCESS

— J.K. Rowling

2. VALUE YOUR TIME ABOVE ALL

Until we can manage time, we can manage nothing else.
— Peter F. Drucker

3. FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
— Oscar Wilde

4. FORGIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Love yourself, accept yourself, forgive yourself and be good to yourself, because without you the rest of us are without a source of many wonderful things.

— Robin Sharma

7. ACCEPTING YOUR WEAKNESSES

The most successful people on this planet don’t let their weaknesses or shortcomings determine what they can and cannot accomplish. Instead, they acknowledge their weaknesses and accept them completely. Then, they focus on their strengths until they become outstanding at the few things they do well.

8. RAISE YOUR STANDARDS

If you want to change your life you have to raise your standards.
— Tony Robbins

9. CULTIVATE SELF-DISCIPLINE

Without self-discipline, you might end up overweight, stuck in a job you hate or unable to find enjoyment in life. Therefore, self-discipline is not optional. Sooner or later, you will pay the price for a lack of self-discipline. Learn to discipline yourself and you’ll be able to have anything you want in the long term.

10. BUILD ACCOUNTABILITY

Who will call you out if you don’t follow through on your commitment?

Greatness requires that you not only demand more of yourself, but that you also ask others to hold you accountable.

💡4 tips on how to solve problems

1. Focus on the solution, not the problem.⠀

Neuroscientists have proven that the brain cannot find a solution if you are fixated on a problem. This is because when you focus on a problem, you are essentially feeding "negativity" which in turn activates negative emotions in your mind. niya.⠀
You should not "ignore the difficulty" - instead, try and keep calm. This helps to first recognize the problem, and then switch to finding a solution instead of whining about "what went wrong" and "who is to blame."

2. Be objective.⠀

Try and consider all "possible solutions" - even if, at first glance, they seem ridiculous. In order to launch creative thinking, which can suggest possible solutions, it is important not to give up a single idea right away.⠀
Any idea is good, it encourages creative thinking during brainstorming and other problem solving techniques. Whatever you do, don't make fun of "stupid decisions", as often delusional ideas suggest more effective options.⠀

3. Judge the problem impartially.⠀

Try not to perceive the problem as something terrible! If you think, what is the problem? This is just a reaction to the current situation. The problem tells you that something is not working at the moment, and that you need to find a new solution. Therefore, try to solve problems impartially, without any evaluation. If you fixate on the label "problem", it can cause negative thoughts and prevent the sudden emergence of possible solutions.⠀

4. Think abstractly.⠀

Change the "direction" of your thoughts, with the help of abstract thinking. Concentrate on the statement: "By digging the same hole deeper, you cannot dig a hole in another place." Try to change your approach and look at things in a new way. You can try to look at your goals from a completely opposite point of view.⠀

11 tips to achieve your goal:

◾️Think in writing. A goal that is not on paper does not exist.

◾️Set the goal specifically by answering the questions: what, where, when and how?

◾️ Limit the goal in time: a goal without time is just a dream.

◾️ Think about who the achievement of your goal will benefit, except for you?

◾️Formulate the goal in an affirmative form in the present tense.

◾️Divide goals into subgoals, prepare a detailed scenario for achieving the goal.

◾️Take responsibility for your actions on the way to the goal.

◾️ Determine the intermediate results of achieving the goal.

◾️Think about the end, not about the means to achieve it. Set your final destination and go.

◾️ Create an image of the future, where you have reached the goal, and fix this image.

◾️Behave as if success is guaranteed to you.

10 habits of strong people

They seek and find opportunities where others give up.

They learn from what others see as failure.

They make smart decisions.

They are constantly and consciously building the road to their success, while others are waiting for success to find them.

They are afraid just like everyone else, but do not let their fear control them. Fear is just fear.

They ask the right questions - the ones that exhaust the answer.

They don't complain - it's just a waste of energy. All their complaints are in court.

They don't shift blame. They take full responsibility for their actions and results.

They do not necessarily have fantastic talent, but they always find a way to maximize their potential. They demand more of themselves.

They are busy, productive and punctual. In all the places where everyone is just lounging, pretending to work and ranting - they are working.
