Just because they talk about it doesn't mean they will carry it out. It is up the the citizens to ensure it gets done.

Parents need to be involved in these meetings.
7/25 9:00 a.m. – Public Education E2.012
· HB 1525 and HB 3(86R), relating to public school finance and public education
· HB 4545, relating to assessment of public school students and providing accelerated instruction
· SB 1365, relating to public school organization, accountability, and fiscal management; and
· SB 1716, relating to supplemental special education services and instructional materials for certain public school students.
· Study the effects of COVID-19 on K-12 learning loss and best practices that exist to address learning loss. Monitor the implementation of state and local plans to address students' achievement gaps.
· Examine the causes and contributors for chronic absenteeism in public schools and its impact on student outcomes. Consider techniques and approaches that have been utilized by public schools to identify students who are chronically absent and return these students to classrooms.
For the committee on 7/26 10:00 a.m. – Public Education E2.012 - Mental Health will be a strong subject.
It will be a good idea that if you have evidence to present to the senate that you do so on this day, as the 3rd party providers for mental health are having a love affair with the idea of having mental health services in the school setting. Organizations need to stay on their side and boundaries are required. If your child is viewed as a "trouble kid" those organizations will decide where to send your child for their education, parents will have no power over the decision.
So, if you have surveys take them with you.
**You will need 20 copies of what surveys your kids have received in school without your parental consent. And your testimony can only last 2 minutes so have notes on your remarks ready.

Forwarded from Hays County TX Education Chat
Social & Emotional Learning class at Hays ISD, it is important parents take a look at what SEL & CRT is teaching our students.
We recommend parents get engaged in learning about this before sending your students back to school.

If your LEOs select which laws they want to enforce and which ones they will not, then that is effectively ruling by proxy of your position. If you are not going to fulfill the position for which you were hired perhaps it is time to put out the Now Hiring sign and find someone who upholds the laws as they are written. https://communityimpact.com/austin/san-marcos-buda-kyle/government/2022/08/04/san-marcos-not-devoting-police-resources-to-abortion-investigations-city-council-discusses-educational-resources/?utm_campaign=Impact%3A%20San%20Marcos%2FBuda%2FKyle&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=221889967&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_pC2RUApFf7Z7T5E76izacfVeEJyBN5jzmS9Y8ETDQcDC9xMk9oxVrETnvDDGitjQyKFxP9Yv-R4GL9-G4EXj_2ytz-g&utm_content=221889967&utm_source=hs_email
