We just received double confirmation from Android Authority (two independent articles) that:
🍩 Android 17 will carry the internal codename Cinnamon Bun (written as CinnamonBun in API level 37.0).
Cinnamon bun, aka cinnamon roll, is a sweet roll typical of Europe and North America.

🔍 Why was “Cinnamon Bun” chosen?
A. Alphabet reset: Google reset the alphabetical order starting with Android 14 QPR2 due to the switch to Trunk Stable development.

- Android 15 (35) = Vanilla Ice Cream
- Android 16 (36) = Baklava
- Android 17 (37) = Cinnamon Bun

B. Internal evidence: Trusted sources at Google show CinnamonBun string in SDK API level 37 build.
C. Statue alert: A new Android statue in the shape of a cinnamon bun is likely to appear in Google's Mountain View office.
