According to the Israeli military, "its troops entered Jenin to arrest an Islamic Jihad "terror squad", who it accused of being "heavily involved in planning and executing multiple major terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers".[1] According to the Jerusalem Post, the objective was to prevent a planned terrorist strike and arrest three wanted Islamic Jihad militants.[2] 9 Palestinians including 7 militants and two civilians were killed.[3][4][5] It was the deadliest Israeli raid into Jenin refugee camp in nearly 20 years.[6]

Coalition lawmakers are reportedly putting together a proposal that would change the criteria for banning parties from the Knesset, making it easier to push out Arab-led parties representing some 20 percent of Israel’s population.

According to Channel 12 news, the bill being advanced by Likud MK Ofir Katz will make it possible to bar MKs for isolated comments deemed supportive of terror, including support for an attacker, rather than only a terror group. Among the acts that would be construed as support for terror would be visiting the family of an attack suspect.

The channel reports that coalition heads agreed to pursue legislation aimed at kicking Arab-led parties out of the Knesset, but are afraid any such measure would be quashed by the High Court, and so are waiting for legislation that will shackle the court’s ability to strike down laws.

The IDF claimed “the preemptive raids on palestinian militias were to ensure the militants were not able to carry out terrorist attacks they allegedly had planned.”

The operation was carried out by “YAMAM” operators.

🇮🇱 🇱🇧 'Thousands of shells per day' would hit Lebanon if IDF, Hezbollah go to war in the future

IDF Lt. Col. El-Chai Cohen spoke to the Jerusalem Post in the midst of a 10-day-long drill for the artillery.

If Israel goes to war with Hezbollah, IDF artillery will hit Lebanon with “thousands of shells per day,” Lt.-Col. El-Chai Cohen told The Jerusalem Post.

Cohen, the commander in charge of training for land forces artillery officers, spoke to the Post in the midst of a 10-day-long artillery drill.

However, what classifies as “artillery” today is completely different from the traditional definition. It now includes attack and intelligence-collection drones. In fact, 60% of current “artillery” forces are non-traditional – either drones, attack rockets or other methods of attack.
