🔶️ Russia had achieved success in jamming of US-supplied weapons, reports said.
Classified reports revealed the Excalibur shell strike success dropped from 55% to 6% last summer.
🔶️ The cost of the Excalibur has soared, according to a Government Accountability Office report, to roughly $100,000 per shell in 2022, as much as 50 times the cost of an unguided 155mm shell, before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
🔶️ Russian jamming has also affected HIMARS missile and glide bombs
🔶️ The HIMARS system, which can fire rockets up to 50 miles, has also been hampered by Russian jamming, a Ukrainian military source told The Post.
🔶️ Earlier this week, a report revealed that US-supplied glide bombs were continually missing their targets as a result of Russian jamming, too.
🔶️ "The gap between where the United States should be and where we are, in my judgment, continues to expand not everywhere, but in far too many places," Nagata said at the SOF Week conference in Tampa, Florida.

🔶️ “Following decades of investments across the US military in precision capabilities, the claim that simpler weapons may be the best for the modern battlefield raises larger questions about whether the Army has been putting billions over billions of dollars down the wrong hole.”
🔶️ “Williams himself called precision weapons “essential,” but cautioned that they cannot “supplant the indispensable volume of… unguided cannon fire,” on the battlefield.”
🔶️ “Although Williams did not disclose which precision munitions are experiencing higher failure rates, there have been multiple reports of Russian forces jamming or spoofing munitions that rely on GPS.”
🔶️ “Lessons learned from the Ukraine conflict absolutely have applicability elsewhere. But when the distances get longer, the need for higher-end weapons become unavoidable.”

Taking aim: Army leaders ponder mix of precision munitions vs conventional
Three four-star US Army generals this week weighed in with their opinions about finding the right balance between conventional and high-tech munitions - but the answers aren't easy.
🇵🇱 Poland unveiled a plan for new defenses along its borders with Russia and Belarus. Poland and other European NATO members are warning that Russia could launch an attack. An image showed a wall, barbed wire, anti-tank obstacles and vegetation.
🇪🇺 Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also said in March that Europe was in a "pre-war era" and needed to prepare urgently.
🇱🇻 Other countries near Russia are also increasing their border defenses. Baltic countries also plan big fortifications on their borders with Russia and Belarus, including bunkers. Six NATO countries — Poland, Finland, Norway, and the three Baltic states — are also reportedly planning a "drone wall" to defend against Russia.
🇧🇾 Poland already has a border wall between it and Belarus, built by its previous government last year to prevent migration.

🇵🇸 🇮🇱 War in Gaza could last another seven months, Israel warns
🔶️ The war in Gaza will likely continue through at least the end of the year, an Israeli official warned Wednesday, seeming to dismiss the idea that fighting would end after the military offensive against Hamas in Rafah.
🔶️ Israel’s national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, said the year 2024 has been “defined as a year of combat” by Israel’s war cabinet.
🔶️ The comments came as Israeli tanks – seen Tuesday in central Rafah for the first time since the operation began earlier this month – continued to probe the southern Gaza city on Wednesday, despite mounting global pressure to stop the offensive.

📝SIDENOTE: This is huge because it underscores a major aspect of the instability within the Somalian government.
First and foremost we have to take into consideration Al-Shabab and their role in this. Al-Shabab has weakened the Somalian government and has brought it to the brink of a civil war due to the territory it controls and the campaigns that it engages in.
Secondly, the IS has used this instability to garner sympathizers within the mountainous regions of Somalia and used it as a new base of operations after claiming the Bari Mountains. But what’s truly remarkable is that Al-Shabab hasn’t launched an attack on the capital, in the capital, or promoted lone wolf attacks against military personell in Mogadishu. Yet the IS has managed to hit the capital of Somalia. This shows that the ambition of the Somalian Wilayah still is there and it’s seeking ultimate victory.
Lastly this underscores a fundamental point, the Somalian Wilayah is growing and recruiting more people. If they didn’t have the manpower then they wouldn’t have dared to send any militants to attack the capital of the country, where it’s more likely they’d get lynched or shot.
