Poland is launching 49 EU-funded Foreigners' Integration Centers to support migrants with language courses, legal help, and adaptation services as the country prepares for a surge in migration under the Tusk-led government

The Polish government is setting up 49 Foreigners’ Integration Centres (CICs) across the country, aimed at helping newly arrived migrants integrate into Polish society, the European Commission announced this week.

The centers, designed as “one-stop shops,” will provide standardized services, including language courses, legal assistance, and psychological care, and will work with NGOs to cater to a large influx of immigration from outside the European Union under the left-liberal coalition government led by former Eurocrat Donald Tusk.

The initiative, led by Poland’s Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Policy, will see CICs established by marshal offices in collaboration with institutions that work with migrants in local communities.

It is being funded by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF).

Each CIC must include the provincial office responsible for legalizing migrants’ residences and at least one NGO experienced in serving diverse migrant populations, the Commission stated.

In a press release, the EU executive outlined the type of assistance that will be on hand for foreigners, including access to language courses, prevention programs for domestic violence and human trafficking, and help with employment and labor rights.

Integration courses on offer will cover topics like Polish history, constitutional principles, and cultural heritage in an attempt to provide migrants with a comprehensive understanding of Polish society.

Migrants will be permitted to access the services on offer for free up to applying for a long-term EU residence permit, which requires them to show Polish language proficiency at the B1 level.

This thread will look at the evidence presented by the network found here in a summary on it's own website:

The study confirmed this Jewish origin with the YDNA and mtDNA of his son, Hernando. First of all, mtDNA is inherited maternally, so it is not relevant to Chris. Secondly, how has YDNA confirmed he is Jewish? Did they do a specific clade analysis? It is not specified.

At the moment it seems based on the fact that he had J YDNA, the doco concluded that Columbus was Jewish. This makes the assertion quite ridiculous, as such a wide clade is found over much of Europe, including along the Ligurian coast, not just Jews.

Furthermore, even if a specifically Jewish clade was found, it could simply indicate distant paternal ancestry. It is not evidence that the man was Jewish himself. So the genetic justification for Colombus' Sephardic origins is not very strong.

The rest of the evidence presented is based on this flawed genetic evidence. They claim that since Jews had been expelled from Genoa and restricted in the 12th c., he could not be from there. However, subsequently Jews were present in Genoa and were later expelled in 1515.

So it's clear there was in fact a community present in Genoa. They then claim that Colombus never wrote in Italian. This is false, as glosses and notes in books he owned were written in Genoese and Italian respectively. Furthermore, his earliest Spanish writings were poor.

Indicating it wasn't a first language. They then use the fact that Colombo's in Genoa are unrelated as some sort of damning evidence, but that is fairly common with surnames. Valencia is confirmed as a location due to the tradition of silk weaving there, so again... weak.

To conclude, this does in no way prove Colombus was Jewish nor that he was from Valencia. There is overwhelming historical evidence that he was Genoese in his own writings and those of his contemporaries.

🇬🇧 UK's fertility rate falling faster than any other G7 nation - with austerity thought to be 'principal factor'

As the UK's fertility rate drops, concerns are rising about the economic impact it will have on the population, with more pensioners than working-age people in the future.

Research by thinktank the Centre for Progressive Policy (CPP) has discovered that the figure, which is called the fertility rate, has dropped by 18.8%.

That number represents the biggest proportion fall across the G7 in 12 years, between 2010 and the latest statistics released in 2022.

According to CPP analysis, Italy saw the second-largest fall, followed by the United States, Canada, France and then Japan, while Germany saw a rise.

The proportion fall refers to the change in fertility rate compared to what it was in 2010.
