A small village in Brandenburg, Petersdorf, will receive 500 migrants despite having only 600 residents, and local residents are outraged, alienated, and feel helpless. It is a story happening across Germany and is likely to only fuel anti-immigrant resentment.
Petersdorf is situated next to Bad Saarow, a spa town, and is known for attracting Berliners for the weekend for its thermal baths, restaurants and beautiful views of the local lake, the Scharmützelsee,
However, just outside the town in an old army barracks, which the local district is planning to convert into a home for hundreds of migrants. It is the type of story that conservative critics say is further evidence of the Great Replacement, which describes the ongoing demographic replacement of Europeans in their native lands by non-Western immigrants. While the left describes it as a “conspiracy theory,” the right states it is an irrefutable fact supported by data, and in many ways, illustrated clearly by these types of cases.

The French government has spent well over past its target goal of a 4.6% deficit and it reached 6.1%.
The French prime minister, Michel Barnier, said that France is “on the edge of precipice”
France has struggled to keep its spending under control for the last two decades and it ultimately failed to stay below the 3% deficit threshold.
However, the current fiscal troubles relate back to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns. France was one of the most compliant countries with the recommendations given by the WHO and the EU.
As a result Macron encouraged the previous government to abandon all restraints when it comes to spending to save jobs, encourage employers to allow for part-time employment, subsidise childcare leave and other fiscal measures to cushion the impact of the lockdowns.
Barnier said that his government plans to reduce the deficit to under 3% by 2029, an ambitious goal, which will likely result in austerity measures.
France is the most important player in the European Union and it descending into turmoil and social unrest only serves to show the deeper crisis in which the EU has fallen.

Human rights lawyers have filed a court appeal in Berlin seeking to block a 150-metric-ton shipment of military-grade explosives aboard German cargo ship MV Kathrin which they say is to be delivered to Israel's biggest defence contractor.
The European Legal Support Center (ELSC) said on Wednesday the action was filed on behalf of three Palestinians from Gaza, arguing that the shipment of primarily RDX explosives could be used in munitions for Israel's war in Gaza, potentially contributing to alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel denies accusations that it has committed war crimes in the Gaza Strip, saying its forces abide by international humanitarian law while fighting Palestinian militants who operate in densely populated civilian areas.
The ELSC said the RDX shipment was destined for Israeli Military Industries, a division of Elbit Systems (ESLT.TA), opens new tab, Israel's largest defence contractor. Elbit Systems declined to comment.
LSEG data and vessel-tracking website Marine Traffic indicated that the MV Kathrin had docked in the major Egyptian Mediterranean port of Alexandria on Monday and was last seen there.

China and Russia have attempted to frame BRICS as an anti-Western geopolitical body.
Member and partner states have fundamental disagreements on regional and international issues, however. Such discrepancies include relations with the West and Chinese dominance of BRICS.
India is particularly concerned about outsized Chinese & Russian influence.
Brazil, India, and South Africa all opposed further BRICS expansion partially due to fears that adding pro-Chinese or pro-Russian partners would push the body towards a firmer anti-Western stance.
The African countries in BRICS also have divergent interests. New BRICS+ members Egypt & Ethiopia are fierce regional rivals, while both are competing with South Africa and new partner country Nigeria for leadership on the continent, including securing a permanent UNSC seat.
Brazil, India, and South Africa have tried to balance ties with the West and explicitly avoided making BRICS an anti-Western body.
This approach is shared by many African countries and reflects the policies of the new African BRICS affiliates.
Given its economic focus & pattern of expansion, BRICS will likely prioritize increasing engagement with countries suited to help expand the bloc's global economic leverage in key comparative advantage sectors, which could aid long-term objectives like de-dollarization.
BRICS expansion has expanded the bloc's ties to regional institutions in Africa, the Americas, and Asia. The expansion has also pushed the bloc's global share of population & foreign exchange reserves over 50 percent & increased its share of oil production, exports, and GDP.

Tokidoki, the Italian brand which created the controversial ‘Luce and Friends’ mascots for the 2025 Jubilee Year, has collaborated on a range of ‘adult toys’ – the designs of which have been described and reviewed in strikingly similar terms to the Vatican mascot.
The toys were designed with a similar, distinctive tokidoki kitsch aesthetic to “Luce and Friends.”
In October 2016, Lovehoney launched its tokidoki product range. AVN Media Network wrote the following, naming Simone Legno (the creator of “Luce and Friends”):
Lovehoney no longer stocks these products, although they are still for sale elsewhere. The Wayback Machine shows the official Lovehoney product denoscription for one of the sex toys designed by the “Luce and Friends” creators, but it is too explicit to reproduce here.

🇨🇳 China's manufacturing activity expands for the first time in six months
China's manufacturing activity expanded for the first time in six months and services picked up in October, indicating that Beijing's latest stimulus measures are helping the economy turn a corner.
The National Bureau of Statistics purchasing managers' index (PMI) on Thursday rose to 50.1 from 49.8 in September, just above the 50-mark separating growth from contraction.
Policymakers are banking that a stimulus effort announced in late September will pull economic growth back towards this year's roughly 5% target and kick lending and investment back into gear.
