In fact, given that this time around we're facing "poles" that are categorically non-Western, it's probably the first time in centuries that the West officially acknowledges we're in a world which it doesn't lead anymore."

‘It’s not normal for the world to simply have a unipolar power, that was an anomaly, that was a product of the end of the Cold War. But eventually you’re going to return back to having a multipolar world…we face that now with China, and to some extent Russia.’
Marco Rubio may still be a foreign policy hawk, but this is the first admission ever from the top brass of a US administration that the US cannot and will not be the dominant unipolar power forever.
At the very least, accepting this new reality and understanding that other great powers will act in their own best interest and not bow and accept Washington’s orders can lead to a more peaceful and stable world.

For its part, Canada plans to put a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of US goods, including beer, wine and bourbon, fruits and fruit juices, vegetables, perfume, clothing and shoes.”
When asked about Trump’s threat to issue even harsher tariffs if Canada retaliates to the new US tariffs, Trudeau said that would not stop him from making his countermove and that all the leaders of the Canadian provinces agreed.
Earlier Saturday, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo ordered retaliatory tariffs on the US and blasted Trump’s suggestion that the Mexican government harbors alliances with criminal organizations and cartel members.
Sheinbaum said she had told her economy minister “to implement Plan B” which she said “includes tariff and non-tariff measures” though it was not clear what those measures were exactly.

⛽️ Pump prices set to rise as Trump tariffs hit Canadian, Mexican oil
U.S. consumers will see higher prices at the gas pump from President Donald Trump's decision on Saturday to apply tariffs on Canadian and Mexican oil, according to analysts and fuel traders.
The likely hike in fuel prices reflects the double-edged nature of Trump's trade protections which are designed to bolster domestic business and pressure U.S. neighbors to curb illegal immigration and drug smuggling, but which will also run counter to his promises to tackle inflation.
The U.S. imports some 4 million barrels per day of Canadian oil, 70% of which is processed by refiners in the Midwest. It also imports over 450,000 bpd of Mexican oil, mainly for refiners concentrated around the U.S. Gulf Coast.
