Trump Tells Xi, Putin 'Let's Cut Military Budget In Half' - Says Russia Should Be Back In G7
👤💬🙎‍♂️👔📉💣🔫📰 Associated Press | Trump wants denuclearization talks with Russia and China, hopes for defense spending cuts | February 13, 2025:

"WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Thursday that he wants to restart nuclear arms control talks with Russia and China and that eventually he hopes all three countries could agree to cut their massive defense budgets in half.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump lamented the hundreds of billions of dollars being invested in rebuilding the nation’s nuclear deterrent and said he hopes to gain commitments from the U.S. adversaries to cut their own spending.

“There’s no reason for us to be building brand new nuclear weapons, we already have so many,” Trump said. “You could destroy the world 50 times over, 100 times over. And here we are building new nuclear weapons, and they’re building nuclear weapons.”

“We’re all spending a lot of money that we could be spending on other things that are actually, hopefully much more productive,” Trump said.

While the U.S. and Russia hold massive stockpiles of weapons since the Cold War, Trump predicted that China would catch up in their capability to exact nuclear devastation “within five or six years.”

DOGE’s true purpose is to defund and defang the Left so that when the dust settles they won’t be the ones in charge."

🇺🇸🌎 Marco Rubio on the America First agenda:

"Putting America first means protecting our region – keeping deadly drugs like fentanyl out of our cities, deporting illegal migrants and criminals, and stopping the economic, technological and political influence of Communist China throughout our hemisphere.

I chose to make my first trip as President Donald Trump’s secretary of state to five of our strongest democratic partners for a good reason. This is our region, but too often during previous administrations it was simply overlooked. During my time in the U.S. Senate, regional leaders often complained that it seemed better to be America’s enemy than its friend. Well, no more.

My visit to Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic has won immediate results."

🇪🇨 🗳 ⁉️Ecuador’s president claims "irregularities" in first-round election

🔶 Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa claimed that the first round of the country’s presidential election was rife with “irregularities” after he made it to the second round with a slim lead

🔶 Noboa is set to face leftist Luisa González in the second round

🔶 Noboa even suggested that “armed groups” were forcing voters to cast their ballots for his opponent

🔶 Prior to his allegations, González made a similar claim on Monday in an interview with local channel Teleamazonas, saying that there were “inconsistencies” in the vote in certain provinces throughout Ecuador.

🔶 The European Union’s observation mission to Ecuador pronounced the election “transparent, well-organized, and peaceful” on Tuesday, and pushed back against any allegations of fraud.

🇳🇬🤝🇳🇪🇩🇿 Nigeria signs gas pipeline deal with Algeria, Niger Republic

🔶 Nigeria has signed a pipeline deal which would transport billions of cubic metres of gas 4,128 kilometres (2,565 miles) from Nigeria in West Africa through Niger and on to Algeria.

🇪🇺 Officials from the three countries on Tuesday signed the deal in Algiers, Algeria’s capital, aimed at accelerating the development of a vast natural gas pipeline toward Europe.

🔶 The Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) deal would also see the gas pumped through the undersea Mediterranean pipeline, Transmed to Italy, or loaded onto liquefied natural gas tankers for export.

🔶 The contracts centred on “an update of the feasibility study” and other issues, including non-disclosure agreements among their state energy companies.

❗️ While no update was given for the pipeline’s cost, which was estimated at launch at $10 billion, the project has been given new urgency by a surge in gas demand worldwide and soaring prices sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

🇺🇸 🛢 🇬🇾Exxon seeks permit for its eighth oil, gas project in Guyana as output rises

🔶 A consortium led by Exxon Mobil (XOM.N), opens new tab has requested environmental permits from Guyana for its eighth project, the first that will generate gas not linked to oil production, and to explore another well at its massive offshore block.

🔶 Exxon plans to boost output capacity this year to 940,000 barrels per day (bpd) versus the 616,000 bpd it produced in 2024 after upgrades at two of its three floating oil facilities and the arrival of a fourth vessel, Alistair Routledge, president of Exxon Guyana, said at a press conference.

🔶 Guyana has been pressing Exxon to produce and deliver more natural gas, part of the government's strategy to rely on the fuel for power generation, to industrialize the country and begin petrochemical and liquefied natural gas (LNG) businesses that can expand government revenue.

🔶 Guyana's economy achieved its fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth in 2024, expanding 43.6%, driven by crude production. Oil output rose 58% from 391,000 bpd in 2024.

🇧🇷🏛❗️🇧🇷 — More than a hundred Brazilian federal deputies have already signed the petition for the creation of the USAID Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI), aimed at investigating whether the U.S. agency interfered in Brazil's 2022 presidential elections

📝 Lawmakers Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) and Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) submitted the request for the establishment of the USAID CPI last week. A total of 171 deputies are needed to create the commission in the Chamber of Deputies.

💥 The request for the commission is based on an interview with Mike Benz, the former head of USAID's IT department.

💬 In the interview, he claimed that the agency had increased foreign funding to "major Brazilian institutions" starting in 2018 with the goal of undermining Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) government. "If USAID didn’t exist, Jair Bolsonaro would still be the president of Brazil, and Brazil would still have a free and open internet," stated Mike Benz.

⚡️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇮🇱🇺🇸 - The AlQassam Brigades's Spokesperson, "Abu Obaida" has announced the names of the Israeli prisoners to be released tomorrow, within the framework of the ongoing prisoner exchange.
Those prisoners being:

This comes after the AlQassam Brigades's decision to halt the exchange, demanding the IDF to adhere to the rules of engagement, and the entry of missing aid.

This resulted in the outlash of the regime, resulting in
Trump's decision to force Hamas to release all prisoners, or they face the continuation of the war.

This Decision was adopted by the IDF
, which then later succumbed to the demands of the AlQassam Brigades, thus, the first stage of the deal persists.

🇻🇳 🤝 🇺🇸Vietnam Looks to Placate Trump By Vowing No Limits on US Goods

🔶 Vietnam says it has no intention of imposing measures that “create burdens or restrict trade” with the US, and is “ready to open its market, increasing imports of US agricultural products.”

🔶 Vietnam welcomes US investors to participate in “new energy projects, oil and gas areas, as well as mining,” to ensure energy security and sustainable supply chain development between the two countries, Industry and Trade Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said at a meeting with the country’s top US envoy, according to a statement on Vietnam’s trade ministry website.

🔶 Vietnam’s trade surplus with the US widened to $123.5 billion last year, giving it the third-highest trade gap that any country has with the US, behind China and Mexico, making the manufacturing powerhouse a potential prime tariff target.

🔶 Vietnam is among the world’s most trade-dependent nations, with exports equivalent to about 90% of economic output, and counts the US as its most significant customer. Shipments have surged since the US-China trade war broke out during Trump’s first term, which accelerated global brands shifting production away from China to countries such as Vietnam.

🔶 Vietnam is also currently the ninth largest market for US agricultural products, importing goods such as beef, soybeans, and apples, according to the trade ministry.
