💠TAMs are prominent components of the cancer immune microenvironment with diverse supportive and inhibitory effects on growth, progression, and metastasis of lung tumors.

💠In this review, we will outline the role of macrophages in the lung cancer initiation and progression, pathways regulating their function in lung cancer microenvironment as well as the role of these immune cells in the development of future therapeutic strategies.

💠However, primary and secondary resistance mechanisms limit the efficacy.

💠Identification of the novel resistance mechanisms suggests further combinatorial therapies to tackle primary and secondary resistance to PD-1/PD-L1 blockade.

💠Adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with breast cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

📌The frequencies of all adverse events were higher in the intervention group.

📌The most observed differences between the two groups were immune-related AEs.

📌Rash and infusion reaction were the two most frequent immune-related AEs.

📌Hyper/hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency had the most differences among groups.
