THAILAND – A group of armed men attacked six ATMs in five districts in Narathiwat, planting explosive devices, detonating them, and robbing the safes containing cash.
The blasts injured at least two people and caused significant property damage.
This is a common modus operandi used by criminals: ATMs are broken into with a crowbar (or similar tool), after which a small explosive charge, often made from homemade explosives (HME), is inserted.
