Testimony Tuesday

Unmovable. This word defines itself.

Have you ever desired a faith so strong that you would classify it as unmovable, unshakable, unflappable, trusting faith?

But when that storm comes and slams you right out of the gate out of nowhere, sometimes panic sets in. We’re caught off guard.

We begin to ask, “Why did this happen to me, what did I do to deserve this?

Perhaps it has more to do with the enemy than you realize.

We forget sometimes that we are at war in the spiritual realm. The enemy hates it when we pray, especially when we proclaim and declare God’s Word over loved ones, or a situation where we take a stance directly in opposition to the enemy.

I love how this woman in today’s video prayed over her family, warring over them and yes even generational type prayers. She struck a nerve in the enemy no doubt.

Listen as she gives her testimony regarding a sudden event that came upon her in the midst of her warfare prayers and her response and reaction to it.

It’s not the circumstances—it’s how you react to the circumstances.

The enemy tried to intimidate her, and she knew it.

She was unmoved because she knows her God and trusts Him.

Be unmovable.

Remember, God is good all the time…
all the time God is good!

Just felt like I needed to share this wisdom.

I love the fact that God takes delight in us when we come to him with all our concerns regarding our adult children. You may feel like you failed as a parent, but remember; God was and is the perfect Father, and yet Adam and Eve still messed up.
So take God’s grace He offers you, and never stop praying for those children, even when it looks impossible, or when there is not even a single shred or hint of evidence for change. He specializes in miracles. This is what I choose to believe!

Me: “Lord, what do You want me to know today?”

God: “When you come to Me with a request, leave it in My care and proceed with your day. Do not waste a single moment worrying or doubting whether I will hear you and answer you. Your request will be taken care of in My perfect timing. All you need to be concerned with is whether or not you are using the abilities I’ve given you to carry out My purpose in your life.”

James 1:6 (NIV) ~ “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

Testimony Tuesday

Well I have a good one for you today. Thank you @kimfairchild for this one.

I love this woman’s testimony about faith. She took her faith, acted on it, spoke and released it into her situation.

Faith means we cannot see the outcome, we are not sure what lies ahead, but we are convinced of the reality of God.

Faith doesn’t grow in the mountain tops…it grows it the valleys.
It grows mostly through the greatest trials. And, yes our faith will test the metal of our armor.

What kind of faith do you have?

Remember, faith is not just believing it’s also an action. It’s moving forward even when we don’t understand. It is faith that gives God’s power action.

Keep praying for what you cannot see. Speak His Word, let your faith register past your lips and confess and proclaim the promises of God. Faith cannot be released apart from an action. We turn our faith loose by saying what we believe. But more importantly, faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

It’s like what Charles Spurgeon said, “God’s Word is like a lion. You don’t have to defend it, just release it.”

It’s that powerful!

God wants to make His word good in your life, but only if you act on it. We cooperate with His word. So, keep looking at what the Word says and who God is, rather than the circumstances.

'For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.'

“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord.”
Isaiah 54:1 NKJV

What constitutes a mother?

If we define it by giving birth, then we recklessly undermine those who cannot have children.

There are times when God chooses someone who has not borne children to be a mother.

The spirit of a mother resides in a woman who cares about nurturing people in their lives. We have this concept that you’re not really a mother unless you physically birth a child.

God is saying here that you have an opportunity to give of yourself to the people around you and be a mother to them.

Whether birthed or adopted, you are exactly who God chose for job. Think about it! Of all the mothers in the world, He chose your mother, and he chose you to be a mother to your children.

Happy Mother’s Day!

CARROTS, EGGS, AND COFFEE.
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee. You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each pot on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil.
In the first she placed some carrots, in the second she placed some eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked,
"Tell me what you see."
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked,
"What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity. Boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you when the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level?
How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
May we all be COFFEE!

Testimony Tuesday

There is a saying I heard many years ago that I never forgot. I always remember it in the midst of personal pain.

I don’t remember where I heard it, but it goes like this…

Pleasure is the intermission of pain.

Oh how true this is, especially for those who walk closely with the Lord.

It seems like life is going well with no cares and then wham—something comes and robs you of that momentary pleasure or peace. Like one wave after another.

As many of you already know, I recently lost my daughter-in -love Jennifer to cancer this past Christmas.

Now my brother Greg has an aggressive turbo cancer that started in his liver and pancreas. Tumors are all throughout his abdomen and was told he has days to live. He is now on hospice. His diagnosis had just come in the last couple of weeks, but it was suspected about 8 weeks ago.

“He is skin and bones Paula” as my sister described.

I had just seen him this past January at Jennifer’s memorial. He looked fine and healthy.

My brother is the same age as when our mother passed. I call him my twin even though we are exactly one year apart. I am older, but he was bigger than me. Everyone thought we were twins when my mother had us in the double stroller.

As you can imagine, my heart is broken and in pain for our family and for my niece who had lost her own mother when she was just 16 years old back in 2014. Now she is stoically facing the threat of losing her father.

I had come across this video testimony, that I had forgot about until this morning.

I listened to it a couple of times.
I thought of that phrase I mentioned earlier. I recalled the verse the gentleman mentioned.
I looked it up. My Bible calls it the Hymn of Faith…

1 “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
2 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
3 God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places...”

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Friends, whatever pain and or loss you are going through right now…He is right there. How do I know? Because He promises to walk with us in the fire.

It is possible to sit in our pain, and say “I don’t know.” or “I don’t understand Lord, but I still choose to trust you!”

We don’t always have to have all the answers, or are guaranteed an explanation but I know for sure I can still trust the One that has all those answers to our questions.

When the fire comes, I will remember that He, the One that lives in us, goes before us. I believe it is possible to remain joyful in the Lord. I won’t stop singing in my pain. He is still worthy.

So, weep when you need to. Tell Him you don’t understand. But don’t let the bitterness of that affliction overtake you. Keep abiding in Him as He embraces your grief. There is where you will find peace in those storms. Jesus is at the helm.

One day He will answer all of our “I don’t knows.” But in the meantime we can rely on what we do know…we can still trust Him.

Although our lives will continue to experience peace and pain, we can still serve because there is always purpose in the pain, and nothing is wasted in the kingdom of God.

“I will not bleed with my pain. I will bless with my pain.”

Blessings
—Paula

Well these two are really getting a wingersizing workout. Soon they will be fledging off into the wild blue yonder. For now, everyday they are becoming more confident as they practice and hone their steering and flapping skills while getting some air.
