“Lord, call us to battle, that we may proclaim you King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” —Miss Clara from the movie War Room

Father,

I’ve clenched my fists long enough.

I’ve white-knuckled my way through storms You never asked me to command. I’ve worn myself out trying to fix what only Your hands can heal. So today, I let go.

Not in defeat, but in surrender.

Not in weakness, but in warfare.

Because true strength is laying down the idol of control and lifting up the name that never fails.

God, I confess I’ve tried to play Savior in a world that already has one. I’ve micromanaged my mess and called it responsibility. I’ve confused anxiety with planning and fear with wisdom. I don’t need to approve Your will. I just need to trust it.

So wreck my pride if You have to. Tear down the scaffolding I’ve built around my fears. Reroute my plans, ruin my comfort, and realign my steps until they match Your pace, Your path, Your purpose.

I don’t want safe. I want sanctified.
I don’t want predictable. I want powerful.
And I don’t want control. I want Christ.

Jesus, be the only one at the wheel. Let my hands fall empty while Your Spirit takes over. When I let go, You lift me up. When I stop trying, You start moving. And when I die to self, resurrection power shows up.

Break me open if You must, but don’t let me walk another step pretending I’m in charge.

I trust You.
I surrender.
And I refuse to take back the reins.

In the name of the One who holds the universe.

Does God Still Speak To Us?

A young man had been to a recent Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?" After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God.. If you still speak to people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey."

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on toward home.
But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street." This is crazy he thought and drove on pass the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh street. At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.

Half jokingly, he said out loud,
"Okay, God, I will". He drove several
blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep.
He started to open the car door...
“This is insane he thought. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to
be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here." He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and t-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?" The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hall way speaking loudly in Spanish.

Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying.

The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk."
His wife, in the kitchen, yelled out, "I ask him to send an angel with some milk. Are you an angel?" The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car with tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

My Favorite Animal

Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed.

My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.

The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked me to tell her what famous person I admired most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders."

Guess where I am now. 😎😁😆🤣🤣🤣

Me: “Lord, what do You want me to know today?”

God: “Let Me calm your heart and mind as you rest in My presence. There will always be things to think about and things to do, but the moments you spend with Me will be where you find your true strength as I pour My lifegiving truths into your heart when you are willing to receive them.

“Do not hesitate to talk to Me throughout your day, for I am always here for you. Tell Me everything. I want to hear your heartfelt cries in good times and bad. Trust Me with what matters most to you. The more you get to know Me, the more you will see My faithfulness in your life.”

Hold Your Peace

The chariots roared behind them,
iron wheels grinding the earth,
dust rising, the enemy pressing close.

Before them stretched the sea,
vast and unbroken,
its dark waters restless beneath the wind.

No path forward.
No shelter in retreat.

Fear rippled through the people.
Cries rose sharp with despair,
the sound of a nation cornered.

And in the chaos was a command:
“The Lord shall fight for you,
and ye shall hold your peace.”
— Exodus 14:14 (KJV)

Not silence of defeat,
but a holy stillness.

A hush in the unknown.
A trembling faith
clinging only to a word.

For the greater miracle begins
before the sea splits—
in the act of faith,
standing still
with nothing but God’s promise.

Testimony Tuesday

The following are two testimonies from individuals who found themselves in the presence of God and experienced a glimpse of heaven.

I don’t know about you but when I try to imagine what heaven will be like or imagine being in the presence of Jesus, I feel as though just my imagination will not even come close to what I think it will be. I believe it will be ten times or even a hundred times greater than what I can think or imagine.

In other words…try to imagine what it would be like and yet, it will be more than that! Now, I can’t even imagine that.

Are you ready for heaven? Will you be ready to meet Jesus?

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.””

Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids/grandkids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be.

God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.

Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God.
Train them up in the authority of His Word.
Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control.
Empower them to know they can change the world.

Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it.

Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan.
He knew Daniel could handle the lions den.
He knew David could handle Goliath.
He knew Esther could handle Haman.
He knew Peter could handle persecution.
He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for it!

Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime.
Rise up to the challenge.
Raise Daniels, Davids, Esthers and Peters!

God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world.
He has an army He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth.

Don’t let your fear steal the greatness God placed in them. I know it’s hard to imagine them as anything besides our sweet little babies, and we just want to protect them from anything that could ever be hard on them, but they were born for such a time as this.

Trusting God’s timing is a lesson I have learned through seasons of waiting and uncertainty. In those situations Ecclesiastes 3.1 has helped me remember that God is in control of the events in our lives and that his timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our expectations.
Trusting in God’s timing can often mean giving up our own desire for immediate results. Acknowledging God’s wisdom and sovereignty, we recognize he sees the bigger picture and knows what is best for us. When we trust in God’s timing, we let go of anxiety and practice patience, confident that he will fulfill his promises in his time.
God’s timing is marked by his faithfulness and love. He works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28), even in times of delay or apparent silence. God’s timing prepares us, refines our character, and aligns circumstances for his glory and our ultimate good.
Looking back, I can see that God’s timing has brought blessings. In seasons of waiting God has taught me dependence on him, deepened my faith, and opened doors I had never imagined. Each situation has been a divine appointment, revealing his faithfulness and provision in unexpected ways.
If you find yourself discouraged by waiting, I urge you to rest in God’s promises and trust his timing. Seek his guidance through prayer and his Word, knowing that he is faithful to fulfill his plans for you at the appointed time.
Father, help us to trust your timing in every aspect of our lives. Amen ☕️

Testimony Tuesday

I love this testimony from this Korean Pastor.
He shares his story of how he encountered “Mr. Jesus.” All it took was for him to cry out to God. A god he didn’t know yet but he took the chance.

You ask yourself; “How did this man know to call out to God, when all he knew was Buddha? He was never taught about Jesus. And yet, he knew deep in his heart to cry out to Him. God Himself had ordained this young man’s heart at that time to call upon the God of the universe.

There is only one God that can fill the empty heart of man perfectly.

Watch this man’s powerful testimony on how he came to know Jesus Christ as his savior.
