This week’s focus will be on our nation’s election process and voting.

It is a privilege to vote and yet, often we Americans having taken this for granted—especially in the last few decades.

We’ve learned some very hard lessons as a nation and have paid dearly.

One of the biggest myths about politics and religion is that the church should not mix the two, or at least be discussed by our pastors to the congregation. How naive the church has been.

For many of us our eyes have been opened for many years. We’ve have witnessed the corruption in our election process which has most likely been going on much longer than we thought.

We’ve seen the results of what can happen when Christians do not vote.

I would like to share why it is important Christians should be involved in the election process and why it matters…

The Message of Freedom

Scriptures talks extensively about the freedom that we experience in Christ. We were once enslaved to our sins, but we are now children of God. Many people around the world do not get to have a say in the way their countries are run. But the government our ancestors established has a different set up.

The fact that the pilgrims came to America in order to seek freedom to worship God the way that they desired reveals how important freedom was to them.

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”
Galatians 5:1

Imagine how different our nation would be if every believer got involved not only in praying over our nation but voting consistently in our elections.

If we say we are believers in Christ and we pray for our nation but don’t take the time to vote, we are still making a choice. Not voting is a form of voting, as it will influence the outcome. We need to take responsibility for our actions, as well as our lack of actions.

Whether we neglect to vote or simply forgot to vote, it is disappointing when we miss out on the moment to voice our beliefs. Christians need to go to the polls more than ever, especially in a culture that does not value Jesus and the Bible.

Our freedom to vote in this country should never be taken for granted. We should desire to have a say in our election process since it will affect the welfare of the nation.

We must remember that we are not seeking salvation through government but through God, and only God. This is why it is important to pray for the welfare of our nation, not just the candidates we vote for but policies that set the standards to run our nation.

“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
Jeremiah 29:7

Submitting to Government
Scripture talks about submitting to those in government.
Romans 3:1 says, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

Our government invites us to vote. It is encouraged. We all have a role to play in the government by voting. Even if we do not like the people in charge or agree with them, at least we are able to share our opinion at the polls and be at peace that God is in control.

Submitting to our government does not mean our faith is in them. We know that a sinner cannot be our Savior. Jesus was and will be the only Savior of this world. He is the first and the last. He is the beginning and the end. He is sitting at the right hand of God.

It is when we begin to put all of our hope into a politician or a political party that we miss the point of voting as a believer.

Living Out the Fruits of the Spirit
One of the fruits of the is faithfulness. We can ask, “Am I being faithful to my responsibility in my country?” When you know you should act but don’t, that too is a sin. If we pray about it and the Holy Spirit is leading us to vote, then it is disobedient to avoid it.

We want to be faithful and live out of the Holy Spirit’s strength. Yes, it can sometimes be a hassle to go stand in line at the polls. Yes, we might lose some of our free time. However, we are given the opportunity to walk empowered by God’s Spirit in us.

Praying Over Our Election Process

It has been said, if we don’t vote, we don’t have the right to complain if the outcome is not what we expected.

Another aspect of not voting is the fact that people who desire to alter or taint the election process do so because it is easier to get away with it. In other words, the system can be altered easily without investigation if half the country doesn’t vote. They simply overwhelm the system without it being challenged. We need to remember our voting process integrity is only as good as the honesty of those who are running those systems and authorizing the legitimacy of every ballot.

Over the years we have lost faith in the voting process. We figure they are going to cheat anyway, why vote? Our dubious attitude has compounded our lack of faith in the system. It is no wonder. But what if we prayed over it? What if we changed our attitude? What if we decide, we each can make a difference.

It is our responsibility to pray for our government and expect them to work for the people. If we are to have fair elections, we must be involved in the process so our voices can be heard. Most importantly, we must pray over the process and seek God’s favor for our nation.

Our prayers before the election allow us to place the outcome in God’s capable hands, asking for His will to be done and for leaders who will act with integrity and wisdom. We seek His protection over the nation and His peace to rule in every heart and mind. No matter the outcome, we trust that God’s plans are for good and that He will guide us through every season.

Prayer Before Election

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6)

Heavenly Father,
As we prepare for the upcoming election, I place my trust in You and seek Your guidance.
I pray for wisdom, peace, and unity to cover our nation and its leaders.

Grant voters clarity and discernment, and may Your will be done through this election.

I ask that our election process be fair, where every vote is validated properly. Expose any nefarious complex system that desires to change or alter the votes in an unfair advantage.

Protect our country and let Your peace guard our hearts and minds.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dear Lord,

I place before you the elections taking place and humbly ask you to intervene on behalf of your people.

I ask you to disarm evil and silence the voice of deception.

I ask you to move hearts and minds, even those who do not know you, to vote according to your precepts.

I ask you to raise up leaders who seek to honor you as they govern. and I ask you to bring the people of our nation to a place of humility and submission to your Lordship.

In Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.

Testimony Tuesday

I believe I’ve shared the following quote with you all before…
“Even now Lord give me an opportunity to reach someone today.”

That quote is written on the inside cover of one of my journals I keep in my war room prayer closet.

There are days I am so busy with stuff, agendas, to-do’s, chores, errands, crafty things and such however, I always try to remember that little quote.

I tell the Lord. “My day is busy, but Lord I surrender my agenda for yours anytime today.”

Position yourself in such a way that you are ready for anything the Lord calls you to do, and be prepared to be interrupted in your own plans. Some days you are called and other days you are not. Either way, it is a blessing.

Get in the habit of pursuing the culture of God’s heart for people.

Just go with it. I promise you will be blessed.
Don’t fight it, just obey.

Everyone you encounter has an unmet need that God strongly desires to meet—very possibly through you.

I love the man’s attitude in the following video. I can tell he knew what his assignment was. He was obedient to what the Spirit was calling him to do.

How many times have we been so busy with things we forget to offer the sacrifice of time and obedience?

You never know who you will encounter that is having a rough day.

Pause in the morning before you start your day, and let God know you are ready to be His feet to help someone.

Prayer

Dear God,

I invite you into my day.

I pray that Your presence would surround me.
I’m Your servant and I give You permission to do whatever You want to do with me, through me, and for me.

Teach me to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit more clearly. I want detailed instructions on how to pray for the individuals I encounter.

Even now Lord give me an opportunity to reach someone today.

If there is someone in Your mind that needs encouragement today, point out that person to me. I will go.

As I step out in faith remind me that I am walking in the power and knowledge of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you Lord, thank you for the opportunity to bless someone else as Your servant on Your behalf.

In Jesus name. Amen.

Blessings,
—Paula

An 85-year-old widow called a North Carolina tree removal company, begging for firewood to keep her house warm, but said she couldn't pay them.

Paul Brittain, the owner, delivered the firewood for free, fixed her car, her roof, her heating/AC unit ALL for FREE and then raised $20,000 for her for Christmas.

This is the America I love!!!!

Today’s verse entry in my planner.

“Put God first—and watch everything fall into place in His perfect time.”

When we prioritize God above all, before our goals, relationships, and even our worries, He begins to bring divine order into every area of our lives.

It doesn’t mean life becomes perfect instantly, but there’s a peace, direction, and favor that only come when He is at the center.

From your career, finances, and opportunities, to healing, calling, and purpose—God knows how to align everything for your good.

Trust Him, even when the process feels slow.

His timing is never off.

His plan is always better. Put God first. ☕️

sean_sarantos The narrow path isn't popular.

It's lonely. It's hard. It requires dying to yourself daily.
But it's the only road that leads to life.
Jesus never promised the easy way, He promised the right one.
The crowd chooses comfort.
The faithful choose conviction.
Which path are you walking right now?
