Testimony Tuesday
For today’s testimony I am sharing a very powerful example of sacrificial love.
Love is costly, love is sacrificial. To love as Christ loved is a model we should never take for granted.
It is the foundation from which we build from. Christ is our example.
Hear this powerful story of one man’s experience when he was a selfish teenager as he witnessed this within his own family and the impact it made on him. Get your tissue ready.

This second video is a snippet from The Intentional Parents podcast. “Digital Thorns: Minimizing Proximity to Phones” (full YouTube video and Podcast link below)
Guest Joey Odom of Reclaimwell shares a short testimony of an encounter he had at the Atlanta airport. As you see in the video he explains he was on his phone and not paying attention to his surroundings. His distraction leads to a heated exchange with another traveler.
I listened to the entire podcast in which Joey shares his biblical approach to why we need to be more present in our surroundings lives. He stresses the importance of how our children, especially young children need their parents to be present and not constantly scrolling on their phones.
The podcast discusses the effect of allowing our phones to become distractions and interfering in our lives . Kids today are growing among these “thorns” which choke out the seeds of every good thing we want in our lives. Joey covers solutions to limit digital devices and have more intimacy with family members.

Why do we ever doubt God? We fret and play ‘what if’ scenarios in our minds. When has God ever dropped the ball on you? It may seem like he did, but what if instead we say; “Father, I don’t understand how this is going to all work out but I am going to choose to let you lead in this situation, and lay my concerns before you.”
In the meantime let’s not throw away our confidence, which has a great reward. For we have need of endurance, so that when we have done the will of God we may receive what is promised.

Forwarded from Lord, What Do You Want Me To Know Today?
Me: “Lord, what do You want me to know today?”
God: “There is nothing in your life that is worth fretting over. When the temptation to worry begins to overtake you, talk to Me immediately. I will gladly relieve you of your burdens if you will trust Me enough to let Me carry them for you. I've created you with special gifts and talents to use for My glory in your lifetime--worrying isn't one of them. Don't waste any more time trying to control things that are Mine alone to handle."
Matt. 6:34 (NIV) ~ "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Hello warriors! Call To Battle has updated its avatar for the New Year! Both Kim and I thought this new logo fit the bill and would probably make a great design for a t-shirt also! I just may try it out!

https://www.youtube.com/live/B4-L2nfGcuE? Some sad news up at Big Bear Lake this afternoon. Looks like a Raven got Jackie’s eggs. Jackie must not realize the egg she is sitting on now has been compromised. I noticed she has been leaving the nest unattended for long periods of time up to 20 plus minutes. Unclear why she would leave the nest vulnerable. Nature can be cruel sometimes.

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Testimony Tuesday
Today I want to share an encouraging post rather than the normal Testimony Tuesday post, only because I sensed the Holy Spirit wanted me to share some inspiration.
I don’t always have anything on the docket planned ahead for a testimony. I don’t panic. I just figure the Holy Spirit has something else in mind, so I just go with it. When that happens I assume the Holy Spirit wants me to share for someone out there. Well today is one of those days.
(Okay, there might be a little testimony today.)
The subject of today’s post is about weariness in the battle. You all probably know what I am talking about.
It seems like every day is a battle with something doesn’t it? There is no reprieve and you keep praying and praying and yet you are still in the thick of it.
Yesterday morning I was nudged to call a dear sister in Christ…just out of the blue. I will go as far to say the Holy Spirit prompted me.
I asked her how she was doing, and she explained to me that her and her husband are doing “okay” —code for “not everything is great right now.”
They were struggling with all the drama and hardship with some difficult family issues, financial challenges, wayward adult children, and some personal health issues including physical aches and pains that come with an aging future.
As I listened to her lament. I could tell she was just tired with the struggles of dealing with life and all its challenges. She expressed and wondered, how her life fit in with God’s plan when everything seemed like a mess and falling apart.
I politely waited for a pause in her story and said “Friend, you are focusing on the storm.”
I didn’t stop there. I know it must have felt like a cold wet rag in the face but I just blurted it out.
It was like when Peter was called to meet Jesus in the raging storm and he took his eyes off Jesus. She was sinking and taking in water. I gently pulled her up by the collar and gently spoke.
As I began to remind her of who she is and speak life into her, I could sense that heaviness begin to lift off of her.
I reminded her that both fear and faith require something to believe in, but you get to choose which one. That got her attention.
After an hour long conversation in both of us sharing, she realized she had taken her eyes off Jesus for a bit there and was allowing the voice of the enemy to enter her thoughts.
I encouraged her and told her…”You’re exactly where you need to be. I know you’re tired and exhausted, all of us are. But there is purpose in this pain, this battle. God is doing something!”
She shared with me her life verse; “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”
Job 23:10
“That’s right, and real gold fears no fire!” I responded.
She was like; “Wow, I never looked at it that way before.”
She was back in the game after that.
Friends, even in our weariness of daily battles, we are more closer to the Lord than ever, because we recognize the need for God everyday, and in every moment…even in those fiery trials.
David hid in caves and lamented to the Lord of his trials. He was being hunted down and yet, he kept trusting God and found his strength in the midst of weariness. He was forced to rely on God.
I want to encourage you all, even when you feel like you are just absolutely exhausted, look to the One who is testing you. The One that knows and speaks life into you and says; “Yes, that one…yes you— right there will come forth as gold.”
If you ever asked for God’s will in your life, it is certain those trials will come. You can expect them, because it is where the presence of God is proven in the heat of those trials. It is in the struggle where we learn to die to self-reliance and depend on Him. It’s okay to struggle. Think of it as a muscle being conditioned.
Soon your faith will no longer be flabby. Fear can no longer hold you because you are choosing against it to take courage and step out in spite of it. You gather strength as you keep moving forward.

Take your eyes off the size of the storm, remember who calms those storms, and also remember that storms are temporary.
If He allowed it He must know you will make it through and come forth as gold! …as long as you stay focused on Him.
“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

Testimony Tuesday
I am amazed how inexhaustible the Bible is.
We can read through it many times, or read some of the more classic events that we are familiar with over and over and yet there seems to be a new or hidden gem of a find as if to say, “How did I not see this one before?
A revelation, a realization, a light bulb moment if you will.
I came across this testimony and said to myself; “Wow! I never noticed this before much less paid attention to this incredible event. Who knew, but me?”
But there it was. I opened my Bible and read the entire account.
It was like finding a treasure buried so deep. I’m thinking, “This is a game changer in my spiritual walk when it comes to warfare.”
Before I share the following, I’d like you to keep in mind; the next time you are in the thick of a heavy battle, attack or perhaps an all out assault on you or your family…remember you have a powerful weapon not typically used as a weapon of warfare. But there it was.
What happens in this epic battle scene makes no military sense…but complete spiritual sense.
