I mean idk why it can’t ever just be one thing that fucks it up, it’s like I get jumped by the universe

I know I shouldn’t complain too much, tomorrow is my birthday but still it’s just… that was a peacemaker season 2 level of an ending to today

I wouldn’t be so upset if it just wasn’t painful inside yk? If I stub my toe or have a bad ranked match that’s eh, but it’s some stuff that just cut deeper tonight, it hurts and I wish it didn’t.

So I tried setting up a server today for my friends

It turns out installing Debian completely headless is really unnecessarily complicated, also tried for HOURS to get hyper V to behave on my pc, gave up on that idk what the fuck I fucked with to ruin that but something in the registry is probably fucked up

Switched to my laptop with the plan to install Debian on a VM, then turn the VHD into an image I can burn onto an external usb -> sata SSD to then plug into the computer so it's set up without having to plug a gpu into it (I had to eventually to troubleshoot anyways :( )

But nope I'm so rusty with Linux I feel stupid and it misbehaved the whole time and while trying to 1)get the tarball onto the vm with the external hard drive and 2) aggressively turning the vm on and off I managed to make the VM completely unusable

And on top of all that I was also juggling setting up the hardware I had a spare mobo with cpu, psu, gpu and all the cables but despite everything I couldn't get it to even start post, or idk if there's any indication of post at all tbh I went through almost everything to troubleshoot and at this point I'm about to hook up SPI to the bios chip and dump it and compare with a known good bios in a hex editor and a few UEFI file reader programs


On top of that I also removed all the unused HDDs from my main pc, there was 2 1tb ones I just wasn't using, I now have 4340gb of storage at my disposal 2 of which are 2.5in drives so I might be able to hook them up to a NAS RPi hat to maybe run a plex server at home

But yeah I promised them I'd get it done by 12 so at 11:43 I called troubleshooting the hardware and VM failures quits and quickly installed the windows version of the server (vintage story server) and ran it and then port forwarded it on my router before 12 proud of that lol

But now I have alot of cleanup and organizing and troubleshooting to do so I'm not happy about that

I have 2 RPis and idk what to do with the 4B I have I have the RPi5 and that things sexy af and also overclockable so I wana get a big ol cooler for it just looking for one that does the job right

Idea is use PI as plex/tv OS (android tv vers like lineageOS TV) so I can install modified versions of YouTube and other apps that bypass drm and then also have my own library of stuff that can be streamed on discord w/ friends

Besides that I've been grinding in war thunder for the first half of the day and then went to go get McDonald's like a good American
