The F 16 A is one of the worst jets of its tier in war thunder
It's agility, the best all out absolutely amazing, but completely useless if it can only engage short range, no radar guided missiles either, I have died without getting any points prob a good 85% of battles
On paper it's great, real life it was probably pretty good, but in war thunder you don't get 1v1s unless you survive until the end of the match
The pulse doppler is useful but I'm not sure how/IF the aim 9s (short range IR missiles) can be slaved to the radar for better guidance
Like this day of the game has been shit lmao because it's only been dying constantly with the F16
Best I've gotten so far is very low altitude runs toward npc ground installations but even then the jet is not fully equipped carry out ground strike, that's one of the only ways I'm probably going to make any currency from it
People say that the jet is great because it has better stats and it's good if you play it "in a very specific way" but suck at explaining the specific way, however it doesn't fill its role properly at all

With any sort of ground ordinance your limited to just barely above mach 1 and that gives plenty of time for the enemy fighters to lock on or intercept you, which you have to either stay very low to the ground or constantly use countermeasures, of which there is only 30 chaff and 30 flares
Staying low is very intensive because at that tier the missiles are much better at tracking close to the ground, so you have to stay ~20-30m off the ground compared to the 90m of previous tiers, the issue is stating that low is alot harder than it sounds, small buildings, trees, and terrain features arrive before you have time to fully react to them and if your not near perfect you will crash

Overall I think I need to join a squadron that is actually active, people who know what they are doing, because I lack the ability to fully understand the strategy to used based off of early battle circumstances, I know I am good I'm just not like, adjusted? My record sucks rn imo and I'd rather be getting multiple kills per battle rather than like 0.5 kills a game and then every ten games getting 2-3 kills in one game and resetting the cycle
I have been actively researching what to do but the advice is too generalized to make a difference in what I do, I think I'd rather be part of a more organized team so my information can contribute more to the battle and I can learn off of experts quickly
