While learning about the history of glp-1 agonists (wegovy, monjaro, ozempic) I have discovered the use of compound pharmacies, and oh boy is this big
Basically compounding pharmacies are pharmacies that mix multiple medicine together, or make edited versions of them (in case of an allergy or something) I imagine it's usefull for people who take a whole ton of medicines and don't want to spend 20 minutes taking each pill
BUT the rules that make this possible also open up some very very interesting possibilities, for example I can order drugs either not approved and in research with promising results, or drugs which are not passed by the FDA but are used in other countries, what this means for me is depending on the price, I can get prescribed (by a willing doctor) and order experimental hair loss medications (I have early stage male pattern baldness), and possibly even get mixed skin care meds so they are stable together (ie tretinoin, niacinimide, vit c, stabilizers in one big bulk bottle that will last ~ a year) which will massively help with my skin care efforts since its challenging to stay on schedule when the task of rubbing those creams on my whole body is extremely time consuming and slow and it just feels like a big drag when I already have to take 5 pills and other hair stuff and now the bitterant nail polish to stop myself from biting my nails, so hopefully after I do some research and find a doctor that works with that stuff I might be able to try out RU58841, CB-03-01, Clascoterone 7.5% for hair loss which will be fun
I'd also like to mention that I'm not necessarily insecure about it I just don't want it to happen and I'm fine with putting a little effort in so I look how I want, if it doesn't work then oh well I don't need to really worry about it
