My method of learning is so ape-like

I decided to sharpen a bunch of things again today and after I sharpened my chisels I started working on cutting away this knot that was stoping one of my planks of wood from having a flat side and like I'm sitting there for atleast an hour using the chisel to slowly carve pieces of the wood and when it got dull (the edge I put on it was wayy to steep) I went to sharpen it again and again

Also turns out that I'm better at sawing wood than I thought , I was able to make 8 almost perfect cuts and I'm glad because I thought I was gonna do way worse, but I did good, no miter box or powered saw just by hand

It really seems to be mostly technique, start by cutting at the corner of 2 sides along your line then once that's made start cutting across the board, using the corner cut as a guide, remember not to use too much if any at all down pressure , and make sure if you are using down pressure only on the correct stroke for the blade (some blades are pull and some are push) also it's good to use your shoulder instead of your forearm to drive the saw, swinging in a pivot motion is a lot more accurate than just using the forearm
