Sleeping St Joseph, a devotion not many know about.

St. Joseph experiences four different dreams from God in the Gospel of Matthew. In the first dream, St. Joseph is told by an angel to continue with his plan to marry Mary, even though she has been found with child. After the birth of Jesus, St. Joseph is warned in a dream to flee with his family to Egypt. While in Egypt, St. Joseph is told in a dream to return to Israel, and then in another dream is told to go to Galilee instead of Judea.

In the words of His Holiness, Pope Francis: “I like St. Joseph very much. He’s a strong man of silence. On my desk, I have an image of St. Joseph sleeping. Even when he is asleep, he looks after the Church. Yes! We know that he can do that,” Pope Francis said during an address in the Philippines on Jan. 16, 2015. “So when I have a problem, a difficulty, I write a little note, and I put it underneath St. Joseph, so that he can dream about it! In other words, I tell him: Pray for this problem!”

Happy Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady

The feast of Our Lady of Sorrows commemorates the seven great sorrows which Mary lived in relation to Her Son, as they are recorded in the Gospels or through Tradition. Today we are invited to reflect on Our Lady's deep suffering.

I am sharing this video because I want to highlight several things:

-The beauty of a modest family dress. This bride wanted to wear her grandma's wedding dress, that was also used by her mom.

-The beauty of a traditional Catholic church. Spain and other Mediterranean countries are full of these gems, that portray superbly the beauty of Catholicism.

We would like to ask you ladies and gentlemen to keep a follower's mom in your prayers, since she passed away this morning.

Feasts of October.

Ladies, encourage your kids to pray the rosary every day. A family rosary is a must. As one of the nuns from the school I went said to us: "a family that prays together, sticks together."

According tradition, Mary appeared to St. Dominic during the time when he was contemplating on how to combat Albigensians and taught him how to pray the rosary. From then on, the rosary has become one of the favorite prayers in the Catholic Church. Pope Ven. Pius XII, in his "Philippinas Insulas“ (letter to the archbishop of Manila) called the rosary the “Compendium of the Gospel”: a prayer that helps us reflect on Christ’s life.
