A wife’s reflection of 10 little things that inspire grace within the sacrament of marriage after 10 years of marriage {on 10/8}:
1. Pray, fast, and sacrifice for one another intentionally. When two people are looking in the same direction—that is towards Heaven—powerful things happen.
2. Never get so comfortable as to lose your manners. A simple please and thank you with a smile brings joy and peace to the home.
3. Honor your husband; refrain from speaking poorly of him.
4. Avoid nagging or trying to take control. He is there to lead. As women we encourage his leadership and chivalry through a holy submission made freely with joy. Expect great things from him and encourage him in his masculinity and his work.
5. Make intimacy a priority and prepare with reverence for one another. It is holy. It is beautiful. It is good. It is life giving.
6. Make an effort each day to find a little time to speak friend to friend. At times more deeply, sharing hopes and dreams, and other times quite simply asking how he is feeling or how his day was. Then listen. Deep friendship is built on a shared life and vulnerability.
7. Read out loud or listen to a talk together. Growing together intellectually brings about fruitful conversation that raises the mind to higher things and leads to interesting conversation.
8. Laugh together and laugh often. I love dancing around the living room in the evening, drinking wine, and picking an activity to do together. Find your favorite way to “play” and make a date of it.
9. Leave no stone unturned. Never let something fester or anger take root. It is worth discussing and working through what is uncomfortable and hard because love is worth fighting for. When things are challenging we like to remind each other: “We are on the same team.”
10. And finally, seek to serve one another. I have started to recognize this as the “prayer of marriage”. When we serve the other and make the other happy with little sacrifices and acts of service, we are fueling and proving love with works. We often think about serving our children well but what about the value of serving our husbands too?

Eucharistic Thanksgiving
Spanish settlers arrived in what is now St. Augustine on September 8, 1565. Their first act on arriving was to hold a Mass in a “Thanksgiving” to God, for the the safe travel they had endured. After the Mass, Fr. Francisco Lopez, a chaplain of the Spanish fleet and the first pastor of St. Augustine, stipulated that the natives from the Timuca tribe be fed along with the the Spanish settlers, making this the first Thanksgiving meal in the New World.
The Spanish Empire then after went on to Conquer much of the Americas with many natives converting. And the birth of La Raza Hispana under One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church.

The special grace of wearing the medal.
It is the spiritual presence and powerful efficacy of the Immaculata in our life: by means of the medal, we are united in our daily routine with our heavenly Mother and we receive her special assistance.
This sensorial sign should remind us of the grand and glorious mysteries of Mary. Indeed, the medal is a reminder of all of the great truths and the “Glories of Mary”. But it’s not possible to press all the great mysteries of the Immaculata into a tiny little medal. The medal is at the same time a visible reminder as well as an admonition: “Think about me, I am here with you!” – And through the medal, the IMMACULATA stands before me, in order that I might honour and love her and listen to her directions.

#Advent Season: suggestions for #penance to be done during this Liturgical Season will then be sent to prepare well for Holy Christmas:
1) Gastronomic penances.
– Exchange meat for fish, eggs or cheese;
– Eat less rice, beans, bread, pasta, to leave the table with a little appetite;
– Eliminate all sweets, sodas, chocolates and other goodies;
– At meals, add something that is unpleasant, such as reducing the amount of salt or adding a condiment that breaks the flavor a little;
– Eat some vegetable or vegetable that you don't like very much;
– Decrease or even remove intermediate meals (such as an afternoon snack);
– Drink coffee without sugar, or water at a less pleasant temperature;
– Set aside some day for total or partial fasting.
2) Corporal penances.
– Sleep without a pillow;
– Sit only on hard chairs;
– Pray a longer prayer on your knees;
– Do not use elevators or escalators;
– Work without leaning on the chair;
– Taking care of body posture;
– Get off a stop before the bus and walk part of the way;
– Stop using the car and take public transport.
3) Moral Penances.
– Do not complain about the difficulties of the day, but thank and praise God;
– Always smile, even when there is a nervous one;
– Moderate the frequency to social networks, cell phones and computers (reduce to a few times a day);
– Turn off cell phone notifications;
– Do the most uncomfortable jobs at home and at work, helping others;
– Waking up early to pray;
– Do not listen to music in the car;
– Do not watch TV, but dedicate this time to reading;
– Do not use electronic games if you are addicted;
– Do some volunteer work;
– Pray more for others than for yourself;
– Set aside money to give alms, but above all pay attention to beggars;
– Do not defend yourself when someone accuses you;
– Speak well about the people you would like to criticize;
– Listen to uncomfortable people without interrupting them;
– Sleep on time, even if you don't feel like it.
