NATO is structured in such a way that the United States, Canada, and European allies are completely integrated.

That does not mean the U.S. is coming to Europe’s rescue, or Europe is coming to the rescue of the United States.

We are working completely integrated.

I know many of you criticize Trump. But do you really think that, without Trump, eight big economies in Europe—including Spain, Italy, and Belgium—and Canada would have reached the two-percent defense spending target in 2025?

At the beginning of the year, they were at just 1.5 percent. Without Trump, this would never have happened. They are all at two percent now.

Q: You said that Europe can defend itself without the Americans.

Stubb: Well, that’s not an exact quote... I love journalists.

Finnish President Stubb on Ukraine-Russia:

NATO hasn’t entered the scene yet, and the Russians have not been able to advance as much as they expected over the past four years.

Finnish President Stubb:

Here we are, asking ourselves, “Are we able to defend ourselves?”

My answer is yes, we are.

Trump said last night that he was doubtful about whether Europeans would come to the rescue if Article 5 were triggered.

I told him yes, they will. They did after the 9/11 attacks—the only time Article 5 has been invoked.

I have no doubt that the US would come to the rescue here, and we would come to the rescue of the US.

We need each other for our collective protection.

Kremlin:

Putin plans to meet with Witkoff tomorrow.

NATO's Rutte:

Ukraine should be our number one priority.

Then we can discuss all the other issues, including Greenland.

But it should be Ukraine first because it is crucial for our security.
