RT @OPMUganda: This evening, the Prime Minister @R_Nabbanja presided over the singing of a Letter of Intent between the governments of Uganda and Italy for the Green Cities in Action for Africa project.

The Letter of Intent was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government (@MoLGUganda), Ben Kumumanya, and the Italian ambassador to Uganda, Mauro Massoni.

Funded by the Italian government, the Green Cities in Action for Africa project is implemented by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (@FAOUganda) under its Green Cities Initiative.

Through this initiative, Kampala (@KCCAUG) and Hoima cities will be supported to develop sustainable waste management systems and upgrade food markets.

The initiative is a direct outcome of an engagement between the Prime Minister of Uganda and the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy following the Kitezi landfill disaster in 2024 @ItalyinUganda
