🌾 Drylands and rangelands are among the most important yet most vulnerable ecosystems worldwide. They support over two billion people, store significant biodiversity, and underpin pastoral economies and cultural identities. At the same time, they face increasing threats from drought, climate variability, soil degradation, and unsustainable land use.

🐑 This evening at #CRIC23, the IUCN Forest and Grasslands team will be hosting the side event "Scaling Integrated Approaches to Drylands and Rangeland Resilience." This event will bring partners together to help shape a collective pathway for drylands and rangelands ahead of COP17.

🦒 Grassland, savannah, and rangeland ecosystems are increasingly threatened by land degradation, unsustainable land use, and the impacts of climate change. Addressing land degradation in these landscapes is therefore vital to achieving Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and advancing broader climate and biodiversity objectives.

🧑‍🌾Tomorrow morning, the IUCN Forest and Grasslands team will be hosting the side event "Shared Pathways to LDN: Knowledge Exchange on Integrating Grasslands, Savannahs, and Rangelands into Implementation" at UNCCD CRIC23.

🌍 The session will provide a platform for South–South knowledge exchange, enabling participants to learn from successful approaches, innovative restoration practices, and policy frameworks from other parts of the Global South. It will also explore opportunities to align LDN implementation with national climate and biodiversity commitments, fostering integrated and synergistic action.
