🥕 Agroecology offers a practical pathway for dryland restoration by combining soil and water conservation, diversified production systems, farmer-managed natural regeneration (FMNR), agroforestry, rotational grazing, drought-tolerant crops, and locally governed resource use.

🫛 This Thursday, the IUCN Forest and Grasslands Team will be hosting the side event "Agroecology as a Pathway for Dryland Restoration" at UNCCD CRIC23. This side event will surface evidence and practical pathways that can inform CRIC discussions on LDN implementation/ Performance Review and Assessment of Implementation System (PRAIS) reporting and resource mobilization. Furthermore, this session will draw on findings from IUCN’s Technical Policy Brief on Agroecology for Drylands to ground the policy and finance options presented.
